IMT Nagpur- Thriving in a Student-Run Environment

Placement Experience:

After completion of first year and Summer Internship, placement season begins in September. Some students opt for taking up Pre-Placement Offer from their Sip organization. There are various companies that regularly visit the campus like CRISIL, Arcesium, Wipro, Infosys, HCL. Then there are others that frequently visit like EY, KPMG, Dabur, Blue Star, Pernod Ricard, Shaadi.com, Reliance, Capgemini, Cognizant. A total of 220+ offers have been made so far and the placement season is still in full swing. Highest package is at 36 lacs, whereas the average is around 8-9 lacs. Around 75% of students are already placed and the others are appearing for the interview process. The placement season is still ongoing. My personal plan is to take the Final Placement offer that I have received from the Institute and then contribute to the best of my ability to the organisation. I want to thrive in the field of Sales and Marketing before and right now i have the perfect opportunity in my hands.

Students get eligible for campus placement after the 4th semester. Good companies visited at college roughly around 200 companies. The highest package offered was 1500000 and the average package was 600000. Profiles offered were sales, business analyst, research analyst, operation manager, hr specialist and financial sales. 85% of students got placed. IMT is indeed a brand name but unfortunately, the brand's credibility is applicable only to IMT Ghaziabad. The other campuses carry very little brand worth and legacy of IMT. If there is an IMT that is slightly near to comparison then it is IMT Hyderabad. The other campuses are new and lack recognition. IMT Hyderabad campus is visited by some extremely reputed local companies thereby offering better placement opportunities.

Instead, work on selecting the right colleges instead, which can predict 60% of where you end up. If you get into a good college, then rest assured, your career has been made.

Now, between the colleges you mentioned, I would suggest IMT Hyderabad, as it is better in terms of placements. The ROI is also relatively okay. However, if you compare it with other colleges in Hyderabad, even if IMT is good, there are better options available.

For example, Ashoka School of Business (ASB Hyderabad), NMIMS or SIBM. ASB is slightly better as they have excellent grooming programs like the 360-degree program and EIR which ensures good training. The college also offers dual specialization and the placements are also great. The overall fee for the college is only around INR 6.9L for two years for the full-time PGDM course.

You should first figure out if you are planning to join the college for placements or if you actually wish to improve yourself. 10 years back, a lot of students from IMT Nagpur did not get placements and jobs.
