What should I prefer, KJ Somaiya IT or CS from Thadomal Shahani?

There isn't much of a difference between IT and CS, forget institutes individually where youwould pursue them. Both CS and IT happen to consist of more or less the same subjects and the course pattern is also similar. There are only a handful of subjects that do not match when it comes to the subject courses of CS and IT and trust me, that isn't as important as it seems. Eventually, it is all about your choice of college. It is assumed that you have done some prior research beforehand on the institutes. A former student of this institute who I know would also suggest not giving too much importance to the branches either. Also, special mention to KJ Somaiya as along with the benefits of autonomy, you would be able to grab better placement opportunities for yourself at reputed companies with a handsome salary package. The top recruiters of the students of KJ Somaiya are Cognizant, PwC, Amazon, etc. Till now, 90% of students have been placed and the CTC was as high as 29.75 LPA and the average CTC stood at 9.4 LPA. The placement of IT and CSE branches are quite good. From my experience, the faculty is also quite well versed, cooperative and good. If you are concerned about labs, they are very well equipped with good computers. One of them even has an iMac. Additionally, if you are interested in workshops, councils like CSI and CodeChef conduct them on various technologies and coding which you will find very helpful. If you get along with the faculty, you will also have a number of projects that you could work on. Overall, KJSCE for IT is a good option. You will have a number of opportunities open for you to develop your career here.

Fees and Financial Aid:

I have paid 450000 a year and each year around 4% the charges increases and the fees can be paid in a installment manner for easy of payment The tution fees for every year is 443205 ,caution fee is 1000, registration fee is 2000 it is non refundable ,the admission fee is 500, the development fee is 57591,lab fee is concluded in the tution fee, exam fee is 3300 and insurance fee is 125 all student pay in the same amount. there are finicial aid based on minority and merit based it differ according to companies around 50 to 70% is returned

fees is on a higher side but i took this college decision becuase of the reputation of which the college holds and also the faculty. my total cost of education is 20 lakhs in total schorships are present for the people who comes from a family of income less than 8lpa and also have a sports scholarship. they also provide financial aid for specific students. they also have a anitragging form which proviedes no ragging in the college.

The campus of our college is very big and beautiful, it has many other colleges of SVU as well. We can have MBA degree from our college also

Fees is too much, it can be lesser as not every one is able to give that about
Amenities are much kesser according to the fees such as mics or equipments for plays

The fees sometimes feels is more than required but the campus is that well also. The classrooms and labs have ac. Tha faculty is nice. There is nice service provided. Clean washrooms classes amd corridora as well as internships are provided

College dunia explores KJSCE.

Freedom of choice of exposure course. Here they have alot of options such as sports ,arts, film making, singing etc
Flexible curriculum. As in mumbai University you have to pass internals as well as externals in kjsce you get to pass with internals+external. This allows student to focus on extra courses and be job ready.

Strict for lab attendance. Here lecture attendance doesn't matter but lab attendance must and always be 100%

Compared to Mumbai University. Kjsce is bit expensive. But I must say it's worth it. The college provides quality study. And hell lot of opportunities. If you are economically weak you get financial aid and if you are capable for scholarship you get scholarship too. I myself have applied for financial aid and got selected my fees has been reduced 30% as we weren't financial stable.

Life at KJSCE

Scholarship: EBC Financial Assistance: NA Stipend: NA The EBC scholarship is provided by the government to all the students who are having an income certificate and are domicile of Maharashtra. In addition, there is no financial assistance I am getting from the institute, but there is Somaiya Vidyavihar trust cares for the students who are not eligible to pay the whole fees or cannot afford the fees.

Fees hike in KJSCE is quite high. Here all people just can't afford it. Because fees are above 1 Lakh. KJSCE I think don't provide such scholarships, they have some scheme for people having very low income per annum.
