How is life of abesec Abesec?

WanderingSyntax

Living at ABES EC in Ghaziabad is an experience that blends both personal and academic growth. It's not just about the college or you individually; it's the combination of both that shapes your time there. As a soon-to-be graduate who commutes daily, I've enjoyed my time based on my expectations and what I consider fun.

The campus has everything you might need. You'll meet new people, share stories, and make memories. Some folks might criticize the college and its vibe, but remember, you're part of that environment, and it transforms with you. The great thing about this place is that you can find your interests and explore them.

There are rules, and they can be strict, but I've seen classmates adjust and pursue their passions. Being an engineering college, it's expected that you'll develop multiple skills, even if you start with just a few. The first year might be challenging, but once you enter your department in the second year, things get more enjoyable. The college offers a variety of facilities for academics, extracurricular activities, and events. If something's missing, you have the chance to create it. Academics are a priority here, which is why this question comes up, and it's the balance of studies and activities that defines the college.

While ABES EC may not be the top college, if you find yourself there and complain, the issue might be more with you than the institution. It's about what you've done to get there. For hostelers, life is even cooler. They enjoy more freedom, friends become like family, and they form lasting bonds. They spend sleepless nights playing games, discussing issues, and cramming before exams. You might meet some difficult people, but they'll become part of your circle, and you'll share a special connection with them.

Ultimately, your life at this college is what you make of it. There are positives and negatives, but it's up to you to either adapt or make changes. And just so you know, I'm sharing my honest experience from the last three years, without any incentive.

What do you think of ABES Engineering College? I need an honest review

ChaoticGoodDude

ABES Engineering College is pretty well-known among private colleges in Uttar Pradesh. It was set up in 1999 by Mr. Ved Prakash Goel and is seen as a prestigious institution. The college is linked with AKTU and has AICTE approval. They offer both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It's ranked among the top 10 institutes under UPTU.

The campus is quite large, with modern labs, a library, and roomy classrooms. While it's primarily an engineering college, they also provide management courses. Admissions are relatively straightforward if you clear the JEE Mains or UPSEE Exams. The fees are fairly reasonable, with the annual tuition fee around ?1,10,000. This fee is just for tuition, and it can change depending on the specific course you choose.

What are some common myths about ABES Engineering College in Ghaziabad?

NebulaWhisper

I graduated from ABES Engineering College, so I can share what it's really like.

Placements:
In your third year, a few companies will start visiting, but you'll see more frequent visits in your fourth year. Right now, big companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Accenture aren't hiring in large numbers. Most companies offer roles like Business Development Associate for CSE/IT students or sales roles like telecommunication or executive engineer, with salaries around 3.5 LPA. However, some good companies do come offering packages over 7 LPA. One thing that works in the college's favor is its location, which draws many startups from the NCR area.

Attendance:
Having been through this myself, I can tell you that the attendance policy is strict. You need to maintain at least 75% attendance, and there are no exceptions. I used to skip classes a lot and often had less than 50% attendance. The college doesn't let that slide. They send warning letters to your home about low attendance and may even bar you from taking the ST exams each semester. So, it's important to keep an eye on your attendance!

How is the life at ABES Ghaziabad?

SyntheticSunset

If you're dreaming big, ABES Ghaziabad might not totally meet your expectations. Life there is somewhat quieter compared to other colleges in the same category. Here’s why:

  • There's a 75% attendance requirement.
  • The schedule is packed with lectures.
  • Hostel rules are pretty strict about entry and exit times.
  • There aren't as many vibrant people around.

Still, after spending four memorable years there, I can say there are some positives too. The college offers a competitive environment. Students find cool hangout spots like Pandit Ji's Khoka, Dundahera, Shipra Mall, and Chngezi Chicken near Ghantaghar. If you find a passion and focus on your studies, you can excel in many areas. I personally picked up interview skills and improved my behavior through personality development classes, which have been really useful in real life.

In summary, it's a good place for average students, and you'll likely leave wiser and perhaps happier than when you started.

How is ABES EC as an engineering college and what are its downfalls??

ShadowSpecter

Don't even consider ABES EC if you're serious about building a career.

Here's why:

  • I'm a final-year EEE student, and in my experience, only about 5% of the teachers here are truly worthy of respect.
  • If you're eager to learn new tech skills, this isn't the place for you. Teaching here is all about dictating book content. By the end of the semester, you'll hear, "Just study my notes; they're enough for the exams."
  • Nobody is concerned about your personal issues. Even if you're battling a serious illness, you still need to maintain 75% attendance, or you'll face internal setbacks.
  • I sometimes wish I had chosen a different college, even one with a lower ranking, because at least there I'd manage around 75% aggregate thanks to better internal marking. Here at ABES, getting 75% in internal marks is a big deal.
  • Decisions aren't based on rules but rather on the ego of your department head.
  • They will make you miserable if you don't conform to what they want.
  • Your skills and talents don't matter here. Attendance and compliance are all that count.
  • The management is very political. Even if you have proof and are in the right, nobody, not even the director, will back you up if someone opposes you.
  • In my first year, we had classes on Sundays too. Internal exams were held from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm after a full day of classes from 8:30 am to 4:20 pm. It's mentally exhausting.
  • Two entire notice boards are filled with lists of fines for so-called indiscipline, and about 70% of these aren't even real issues. It's obvious the college is focused on making money.

If you're looking for positives, the only decent things are the ground (where you can't play), the auditorium, and the cafeterias. That's about it for ABES.

To sum it up, if you want to be an "Engineer," forget ABES. But if you're just looking to get a "B.Tech," then you're welcome here. My advice is to not even think about coming here.

Is ABES Ghaziabad a good college for engineering?

VoidDweller

Hey there. I graduated from ABES Engineering College in Ghaziabad in 2012. Back when I joined, the college had a solid reputation, though I'm not sure how it's perceived now. The infrastructure is impressive, possibly the best in the university. As for the faculty, they were mostly average, with a few great ones and a couple who weren't so good. I completed my degree in electronics and communication, but I noticed that placement opportunities for my field were limited. I recall that only one company, Cadence, recruited about 8 to 10 EC students. Most job offers were for the computer science department. I ended up getting a job in an IT firm. TCS hired roughly 250 students, and IGate took about 25 or 30, with packages around 3.5 LPA. Not many big companies came for placements, and those that did often offered less than 3 LPA. Now, I'm working in Hyderabad with a decent salary of 10 LPA.

The student crowd here is quite serious about academics, and you'll face tough competition. If you're looking for a fun college experience, this might not be the place. The college administration puts a strong emphasis on academics and discipline. You'll need to work hard for your internal marks, and attendance is strictly monitored. The first year can be challenging, but you'll get used to it as time goes on.

Overall, I'd say it's an average college. If you're an average student like I was (I scored 65%, which is considered below average at ABES), but you're good at English and confident, you can still land a job. Just keep your expectations for college life realistic. Hope this helps!

My parents want me to take admission in ABES College and I don t know anything about placement, coding culture and nothing. What can I do in this?

EphemeralMuse

It's tough to know everything before you're actually there. Do you think you can figure all this out in just one day? Pick a college that you feel comfortable with. Once you're in, you'll gradually learn about placements, the coding scene, and the overall vibe of the place.

There are plenty of YouTube channels nowadays that can help you understand coding and how on-campus and off-campus placements work. So, don't stress too much. Just get started.
