You are strongly recommended to go for DSE as this brand will surely give you a good start. And after 6–8 years of working in the industry, you can consider going for another MBA from an Ivy League college.

Considering the various factors that define a college’s worth, I personally think IIM Amritsar is better than the Department of Business Economics. I have arrived at this conclusion due to the following reasons

• The IIM tag no doubt is the major USP of any IIM. 
• The placement scenario is much better than that of the Department of Business Economics mainly due to the IIM tag
• Both curriculum and faculty are better at IIM and thus there is more accountability than DBE.
• The high fees you invest in in reality help you to be more sincere towards your program. You don’t take it lightly when lakhs of rupees have been spent. This is enough of a motivating factor.
