How is it like to be a part of Presidency University!

Faculty:

There are enough professors for each subject. The faculties are very much approachable and they are definitely the high quality teachers who makes us learn things in the best way possible. There are two semester exams held for each year. It is very much revelant to whatever taught in class. Therefore it is required to attend classes and those who do not might fail due to lack of understanding.

faculty student ratio is 1 is to 12, dr mousumi dutta, dr zakir hussain are some well known faculties of my departmen, some courses are like macroeconomics, econometrics are not strongly focused on. there are around 4 internal assesments per course module of 10-15 marks and an end sem of 35 marks

More than a campus: The Presidency University experience

The seminars conducted by each Departments are quite engaging and help the students in understanding a wide range of other topics which might not be there in the syllabus itself.
The Faculty here is quite good. The professors are highly qualified and helpful in their approach, making it easier for the students to understand concepts.

Student Snaps:

The faculty-to-student ratio for the UG courses is 7:1 and for the PG courses is 4:1 (the values given here are approximate). I am currently enrolled in the History course and the Faculty is quite good. The professors use various tools like PowerPoint presentations, videos, and so on to simplify the concepts. All the Faculties are good and make it easier for the students in their learning objective. A lot of study materials are also shared so as to exapnd the depth of the understanding of topics. In a semester, a mid-term exam takes place which can either be written or an assignment (depends on the likes of the Profs.) and an end-semster exam is held. The exams are not something hard to comprehend but are made in accordance with the syllabus that has been taught. Naturally, students do not fail to clear exams bu there is a distinction in eaxh students' excellence.

Things i liked would be its liberal space, the professors who gives space and helps students be it anything where one can reflect its ideology learn about everything

The student's professors' relationship is excellent and groundbreaking, where one could discuss their issues There are official 6 semesters in B.A. and 4 semesters in BA but now the UGC curriculam has changed so it would be best to go through it

PRESIDENCY: THE DREAM LIFE

The teacher student ration is near about 1:7. Proffersors are very very helpful and easy to recah. We genarally have mid semester(bit difficult sometimes) and end semester(easy overall) examination in a semester. I would like to mention prof.SD for his excillent teaching and bonding with students.We can cosider him as the best faculty we have.

KALIMPONG TO KOLKATA: A BLEND OF LEARNING AND CITY LIVING.

The time spent in my college was transformative both academically and personally. The college faculty was one of the top tier to consider for the best academic results. While the curriculum was demanding , it verily prepared me for upcoming exams
Though my overall experience is a mix of highs and lows. I appreciated how the mentors guided me and helped me engage in different campus events. The faculty in Economics Department were knowledgeable , though their teaching styles varied.

The faculty to student ratio is 20:1. In my experience, the faculty members approchablity varied. Some of them were really interactive and were always there for help . They encouraged and guided all the students thorughout the course. I particularly appreciated professor P.Thapa who taught Indian Economics and S.Das who was incharge of Game Theory. Both of these mentors really have unique style of teaching and it was always a quick and interesting class with them. Their illustrations and way of explanation is of top notch. The concepts taught by them are so easy and simple to comprehend. There were some instaces where I felt that the Macroeconomic and Econometrics faculty members teaching was not really cleara and conductive to understanding. These were the most complex subjects and were taught with just limited theory paper and some examples.The academic curriculum covered 2 exams each for all the semester. First exam was the internal assessment and was of 30 marks and the final exams was of 70 marks. The internal assessment was of moderate level but the final exam was really lenghty and complex. The exams are generally difficult , given this there were 3-5 students who could not clear the exams.

the faculty to student ratio is like 7:40 The faculties are approachable for academic queries. I really liked to study under Professor Mousumi Dutta in the Economics department. I liked her teaching because it was very systematic and easy to understand. I did not like a certain professor, I would not like to name him/her. There are semester wise exams as well as 2 small internal exams every semester and mid sem exams. In our batch there were a handful of students who failed certain semesters as it was quite difficult to pass these exams.

Every Faculty are well versed in their discipline, for example there are 29 faculties in the department of life sciences, each having their PhDs and Post doctoral experience from National and International Institutions such as JNU, IISERs, IISc, Presidency, Jadavpur University, IICB, IITs, and other top notch foreign institutions. Each have seperate labs and carry research and train Interns, PhD scholars and Post Doc trainees

Amazing life of college

Library faculty is very important.In our university there are two library, central and for arts. Both are standard. Students get a lot information from there. And also carry books from library. Reading area is also there.

I think science faculty have to improve more.Because sometime students raise their voice for the lab features. So it's need to carefully handle by the higher authority of the university.

Every faculty is very good.And their relation with the students is really very fine. If any one in trouble, faculty gives response quickly and help them.Personally I love my faculty because I am attached with it more than other facilities. So , I can gave opinion about it .Exam will held samester wise. How the exam paper's it's totally depends on the authority basically.

Presidency University is the best.

There should be more faculties in our department. But in other departments Number of Faculties are high than our department. There is only one exam that is held only once in every semeser. The number of students who failed in exam is very low like 2 to 5 students maximum. Exams are not really hard but questions are quite tricky. Overall the course is relevant.
