Holistic Review of MBA at IIM Kashipur

Placement Experience:

As soon as the second year starts, companies start coming for placements. These include ICICI bank, Wellsfargo, Genpact, Amazon, TresVista, Havells, TVS, Tech Mahindra etc. The highest package goes around to be 40-50 Lacs while average is around 14-15 Lacs. Almost all get placed while the rest opt-out from the process either for off-campus offers or pursuing higher education.

Placement Experience:

Every batch has a dedicated placement committe comprising of 8-10 students who are selected after a tiring process of 5-6 rounds. The place com tries to get as many companies as posible to the campus for summer and final placements. Almost whole batch gets placed by the end of the course. The placement committee provides both summer internships and final year placements to the students. Many companies visit like ICICI, Tata Capital, Tata Motors, Bajaj Capital, GSK, etc. GSK offered an internship of 1.2 lakhs per month. ICICI offered 80,000 per month. Others offered in the range of 25,000 to 40,000 per month. All the students who sit for placements get placed. The profile varies from sales to marketing to product management and HR roles. My plans after getting this degree is to work in the corporate sector as an HR professional.

We have n-number of placement oppoutunies for the summer placement and final placement as well as the average package is 17 lakhs for the finals and many reputated companies come for the recruitiment of students in the finals as well in summer. The good part is that by choosing electio=ves on the based of our interest we can build our career in domain of finance, data analysts, marketing, Sales, consulting and even in the human Resource department. But student shold well prepared for the GD and interviews before sitting in any brand to get select in that company.

Because of its location, IIM Kashipur has the best Operations faculties and links. However, there are a few issues with the placement of the same. The Institute does not award diplomas in specific fields such as operations, finance, and marketing. As a result, students of any major are always eligible to apply for any job. Because students are not enrolled in a specific stream when they join the institute, their preferences change after the first year of exposure. Many students enter the second year with the intention of majoring in Operations, but they end up majoring in other fields for personal reasons.

Even among them, there aren't many freshmen, for whom it can be challenging to find an operations job; as a result, even they end up getting placed in a different stream. Therefore, IIM Kashipur is indeed a perfect place for operations management, but only if you have the correct perspective on what ops are and if you stick with it.
