Bijapur Liberal District Educational (BLDE) University is a renowned university of Karnataka providing degree courses in the field of medical science. Founded under the BLDE Association, the university runs more than 75 institution in Karnataka including Shri.B.M Patil Medical College.
The university offers MBBS at UG level, and MD, MS, M.Ch and M.Sc at PG level. It also offers Ph.D and Fellowship courses with various specialization for candidates seeking advanced studies.
BLDE University accepts admission to the MBBS, MD and MS courses on the basis of marks secured in the NEET entrance examination, whereas, it conducts separate entrance tests for admission in M.Ch, M.Sc. and research courses.

BLDE University B.Sc. Admission 2023
BLDE University offers B.Sc. course in Medical Imaging Technology. The minimum qualification for this course is passed in PUC (pre-university course) i.e. Class 12th with science stream. The selection of this will be done on merit basis.

BLDE University MBBS Admission 2023
The university offers MBBS course (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of surgery), which is of 5.5 years duration including 1 year internship.
The candidates interested to get an MBBS degree from BLDE University, need to attend the common medical entrance exam called NEET, conducted by CBSE. The applicants will be selected as per the marks obtained in NEET and the online counseling following that. Application for NEET can be made at here

BLDE University MD and MS Admission 2023
BLDE University also offers MD and MS courses for the candidates looking for further studies in medical. It offers Doctor of Medicine (MD) with 13 specializations. Candidates looking to pursue Master of Surgery (MS) can chose from five different specialization subjects. The course duration for both MD and MS courses is 3 years.

BLDE University M.Ch and M.Sc Admission 2023
BLDE University offers M.Sc (Master of Science) and M.Ch (Magister Chirurgiae) courses. The M.Ch has only one specialization in Urology while the M.Sc has four specializations - Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology and Microbiology. Duration of both of the courses is 3 years.
Admission for the M.Ch and M.Sc programmes will be made on the basis of performance in BLDEU-SSET merit test, conducted by the university itself.
The numbers of available seats for M.Sc programme is 2 for each specialization, while the available seats for M.Ch programme is 1.

BLDE University Ph.D and Fellowship Admission 2023
Besides all the programmes mentioned above, BLDE University offers Ph. D and fellowship programmes. The university offers Ph.D with 16 different specialization subjects, while Fellowship is offered only with five specializations. The duration of Ph.D programme is minimum 3 years and maximum 5 years while fellowship has a duration of 6 months to 1 year, depending on the specializations
Applicants should have a MD/MS/MBBS degree for applying in Ph. D. The candidates have to pass the entrance exam named BLDEU-SSET administered by the university itself. The marks obtained in the entrance test and an interview will decide the selection of a candidate.
An entrance test is also conducted for admission to Fellowship programmes.
