- The faculty members of our department are very helpful and all are experienced teachers and their teaching methods are also good.
- The campus of the university is very beautiful and calm.
- Hostel facilities are also very good, the hostel infrastructures are very good and the hygiene is also well maintained in the hostels .
Dislikes
- The over stress because of the exam pattern
- Even though the university excells in academic excellence but the pressure is too much high. More extra curricular activities may nitiated.
- Not much funded nternships are provided by the University or departments.

- I love the energy, students put forward in sports and the unity of the hostels towards it.
- I love the season when fests start occurring, TechXetra is our Tech Fest name, and it used to be the largest fest, once upon a time in whole NE India
- I love how the hostel staff are friendly and understanding towards us.
Dislikes
- I disliked how the semester exam criteria is considered, 4 Evaluations in one semester (4months)
- I disliked some professor, who were biased upon race, and use to make subtle remarks.
Course Curriculum Overview:
For a programme, most of the fundamental course help us build our foundations for applications in real life. It builds us, the knowledge we are required to have for solving issues related to this field. There are some department electives which we can choose as well as open electives which we can choose during the course of our programme, for us. That will be a total of 8 semesters. For doing best during the programme, I suggest, a student to do their best during the first 3 exams, since those exams are scoring but scoring in endsem becomes comparatively difficult due to extreme rigorous checking.

- Good and qualified teachers with better connections

- Little bit away from main town , have to take university bus
- No so well funding and less machines provided
- Other things are not so bad everything is good
Placement Experience:
Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

- The campus is full of greenery with 2 lakes .
- There's a 24/7 Centeral Library with many books and some ac reading rooms
- All daily life goods are available within the campus
Dislikes
- The placement is low both in terms of package and ratio
- The adminstration is not so supportive for sports competitions
- The price of daily goods are also bit high inside the campus
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs.
I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me .
The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc.
The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization .
The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

- The university provides us with various clubs we can join and it is very much active during fests and competitions and everything.
- There's University buses going throught the town every now and then which saves us a lot of money actually.
- Professors give us personal attention and are always there to support our ideas. Also, regarding future education, the university supports us and even the HOD helps us regarding entrances and gate and stuffs.
Dislikes
- Placement is not very good. It is decent. But we are sure there will be lots of improvement.
- Hostel food is not very good everywhere. But there are cafes and restaurants just outside the campus and in the campus but it depends a lot of money.
Placement Experience:
There are placement opportunities which are decent but I would suggest you go for off campus placements. Off campus placements will offer you a good salary as compared to on campus placements. But if your cgpa is nice then you'll land into a decent placement.

One of my friends attended Tezpur University. His experience with the university has not been good. Here are some of the things that she shared with me.
- The administration there is headed by only one person and the VC is not cooperative.
- You will get in trouble if any of your batch mates get involved in any misbehavior.
- Attending classes there is very important and otherwise, you may not be allowed to do your internships.
- The library is inadequate. The wifi facility on campus is also not that good.
- The placement record of the institute is average. The average CTC offered at the recent placement drive was 3.5 LPA.
So, if you have other better options go for it.

What is your review of mechanical engineering department, Tezpur University?

One of my friends studied Mechanical at Tezpur University. Let me share his experiences and knowledge about the college. He, being a student there, will know the intricacies of the college and how they function.
- Faculty: The mechanical department hosts a really good faculty. Most of them are good at teaching and all of them have a great research-oriented mindset.
- Projects: About 80% of the projects are based on numerical simulations. These include optimization, analysis, modeling, developing CFD solvers, Comsol modeling and the rest are mainly experimental.
- Specialization: The department mainly started its M.Tech course in 2013 with a specialization in Applied mechanics. The Thermal and Fluid Engineering specialization began in 2016 and from 2018 onwards, another specialization in Machine Design was also started. The department is definitely growing with time.

Overall, the mechanical department at Tezpur University is not as good as IITs but it is much better than many private as well as newly built NITs in the country.
