A Grounded College Experience

Likes

The faculty members are largely knowledgeable and experienced in their respective fields which makes the academic guidance and mentorship effective.
Another thing is the academic environment is nice as it encourages critical thinking. There is constant participation in debate as well other kind of competitions which keeps the students engaged and academically active.
The college infrastructure is also functional and adequate. Classroom and libraries are equipped with basic facilities and amenities that are needed for academics.

Dislikes

The placement and internship opportunity for students needs to be advanced more.
The curriculum is strong in theory, however more focus must also be given to hands-on learning and practical experience which would better prepare students. .
The library section can be diversified more, with addition of more books as there is only limited number of books available which most of the time falls short as compared to a class strength.

To be honest, I don't know much about the placement mechanism at my University. Most of the students mainly go for LLM, either in India or abroad. Other than this, some go fo judiciary examination. In terms of campus placement, every year, on average, 15 students get placed out of the strength of around 60 students. Students, on the other hand, secure placement on their end too. My plans after getting the degree are to first practice in court, and then attempt the judiciary examination.

Journey at NLUJAA

Likes

The sense of diversity still unity i love the most
Teachers are so hardworking and always there to help students
The campus is natural mostly the library it is so peaceful

Dislikes

Placement should be inprove, students in the past are mostly engaged in government sectors
One more girls hostel is needed less space, also NLUJAA should think of more healthier way mainly for the mess food .
Exams are so tough and more pressure during exam period on the other hand it is also good help us in progress

From the 5th year students become eligible for placement even many got PPO before completion of course. Khaitan & CO once visited in the campus , highest package is not disclosed , average can be 800000 per year . This year many got PPO . My plan after graduation to do LLM and prepare for higher level exams .

The campus environment is very good specially the nature around the campus. The university is completely green lush which is my favorite part
the admin staff of the university is very supportive and cooperative.
The most important thing the teaching staff is excellent.

Dislikes

the university is situated out from the city and it is difficult for us to visit the city

Placement Experience:

as the batch size is very less ( 60 students) most of the students opt for higher studies and judicial services and very few students go for placements and internships. the univerity call some law firms but very few come due to location. but students get paced by their own hardwork.

Campus review on NLU ASSAM

Likes

The environment here is inclusive for law students to prosper by indulging at various clubs which is the thing I like most.
Also the faculty members are helpful in regards of any doubts aroused while dealing with topics.
The infrastructure is decent and the high quality classrooms are self sufficient for better understanding.

Dislikes

The availability of books of library should be more.
Though the placement scene is improving but the institution must take steps to take the placements to next level.

The placement of my college is improving and prospering high. The final yearites this year were placed at reputed firms like ZEUS Law, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan attorneys etc. The highest package achieved is concealed. Well my plans after degree is to sit for competitive exams also State judiciary exams.

Likes

Hostel is definitely one of the best . It has lifts and room are equipped with stand fans as well.
Mess is not that good but it is better then most of the other mess out their .
Campus view is the best out of all it is breathtaking.

Dislikes

There should be a official football or cricket ground
Very far from the main city . There is less shops
Although mess is overall good but evening tea should be included

Placement Experience:

I have planned to work under my brother. 4th to 5th year become eligible for the campus placement. Around 70 percent students do get placement. And still after all law is all about making connections so there will be enough connections made here which will help in getting into good companies.

Life in NLUJAA

Likes

The university have a very good infrastructure, classrooms are completely digital with ac facilities. The hostels are very well maintained.
The library is very vast collection books, which helps in research purposes, it also have a digital depositary which can be accessed remotely.
The University is very supporting in providing internships. The various centers in the university also helps in overall growth. And the organisation of various seminars in presence of eminent diginitaries

Dislikes

The placement is very low in this university. Mostly its students who get PPOs on their own.
The whole campus is not completeled yet, the construction of a new hostel and sports facilities are still pending.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement are very rare here as it is a relatively new NLU. The people here do manage to get good PPOs own their own. Students have got PPOs in firms like trilegal, LKS, Khaitan, DSK Legal etc. As we have the judicial Academy with us, it also provide guidance to students who wants to pursue judiciary as an option.

Placement Experience:

The college also offers placements but the placement is only limited means that if you think that you will get a world-class placement it's not like that. The average placement record of the college is around 40-50% which is why probably there is no information on the college website about the placement I can tell you this because I have been part of the college as per my personal experience the highest package was around 6 LPA and the average salary offer was 3 LPA.

A marvelous instituition in the making

Admission:

The only criteria to get into NLUJAA is to crack CLAT and get a rank above 2000. The application for CLAT generally begins on the first of January and ends on the 31st of March. The exam is held on the second Sunday of May. The course for the entrance comprises of GK, Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Maths and English.
