Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum PIET offers for B.Tech ECE is not limited to classroom learning. the curriculum is designed in a way so that there is more practical exposure than regular academic classes. PIET is an autonomous institute; due to this, the curriculum is regularly updated as per the current industry trends. It includes subjects like communication systems, embedded systems, IoT, and VLSI. Mandatory internships, workshops, seminars, and lab projects are part of the curriculum. What i like most is that the progarm mainly focuses on core concepts of ECE with skill development.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are the most important part of the progarm. In two years into the program, i have had two mandatory internships, which i got through the Career Advancement Cell. The CAC cell has industry connections and tie ups with leading companies and organizations through which we get an opportunities to do internships. Our professors also guide us about online internships, certifications, and industrial exposure. Students who do well during the last internship of their course also get job offers from the company.
Placement Experience
PIET is known for its placements. I chose PIET over other institutes mainly because of the placements. For the final placements, PIET started preparing us right from the first semester. The Career Advancement Cell organizes seminars, workshops, and program oriented training programs where companies and their funders come to share their insights. Companies from IT, Electronics and service actively participate in these seminars and workshops. My aptitude skills were not that good when i joined PIET, but now, after one year of regular skill development classes organized by CAC, my score has increased, and i hope that before the last semester, i will get a job in my dream company.
Fees and Financial Aid
For fees, PIET is more affordable than other colleges in Haryana. PIET's fee structure is as per the government norms, and there are no extra charges on the fee. Also, PIET has its own scholarship exam named PIET Quest through which students can get a fee waiver as per their score in the exam. PIET also offers scholarships to students who do well in sports, education, cultural activities, wards of defence personnel, and many more. I also got a 40% tuition fee waiver through PIET Quest.
Campus Life
Campus life at PIET is honestly one of the best parts of college life. I am a part of the Yantra Club, which is supported by the ECE department. Like this, there are other clubs started by different departments, such as Mudra Dance Society, Robotics Club, Datalytics Club, and many more. Also, Maestros is PIET's annual event. This year, during Maestros 2026, i met Sachin jigar after their performace at the event and clicked a selfie with them. Film stars and singers actively visit the campus for the promotion of their movies and music. Overall, the environment of the campus is energetic.
Admission
The best part about admission at PIET is the admission team. The whole staff is so supportive, and also they help with all the paperwork and process. The entire admission process is simple; you can apply online or offline. If your documents and fees are ready, it will take only one day to get through the admission process. The only thing which you need to care about is that you apply before the admission cycle ends. There are a limited number of seats in every program, so apply as early as possible to confirm your seat.
Faculty
Professors of the ECE department are supportive and experienced. They focus not only on completing the syllabus but also on enhancing students practical understanding and technical skills. Our professors encourage participation in workshops, seminars and technical competitions. Labs are conducted on a daily basis, and profeassors help us even after working hours with projects and assignments whenever needed. What i personally like is that professors are approachable and supportive during both academic and non academic issues. Their way of teaching makes difficult electronics concepts easier to understand.
Night Life
Nightlife at PIET is actually fun. After classes, we spend time in cafeteria, open air theatre, sports grounds, and common areas. Cultural prcatices, club activities, and late night discussions before events create a very energetic environment. During fests and concerts, the campus feels completely different with lights, music and performances everywhere. I personally enjoy sitting with friends in the open air theatre after classes.
