sp college:the beginning of my adult life

the course starts from basic mechanics and goes all the way to astrophysics it basically sets your base for doing wonders in all branches of physics be it astro physics quantum physics or classical physics. the areas which i want my college to improve is in the digitization of course and integration of technology in the teaching method

i paid 10208 per semester which included every fee apart from examination fee which was 2175 rupees this semester the fee remains same for everyone whether you applied as CUET or non CUET those who get selected for hostel have to pay 5000 per sem for stay but for mess you have to pay 2700 rupees

yes we do have ocassional fests and programmes i spent 4 months in college and in these 4 months we had many fests where many local musicains performed and also we had one program from startup india also we had drugfree campaign in bakshi stadium where we met sri sri ravi shankar the library comprises of 1000's of books covering every genre/subject it contains non fictions fictions academic books etc.. integration of technology is one of the weak point of the college as it is the first ever college built in kashmir since 1880's it still has that old system which needs to be upgraded no this also is the weak point of college there are no studen unions and student politics although there is a nss group but that doesnt count as they are selected not elected having no student politics does impact the students in a bad way like if there is a problem faced by students no one takes the responsiblity to go and tell the management which results in the unfixed problems

i appeared in iat for IISERs AND IISCs but i couldnt crack the exam then i put my preferance to this college as i didnt want to go to any private college so i choosed sp college as it is the best science college you can get in kashmir

faculty to student ratio is arround 1:40 which is pretty good not too crowded, not too sparse. faculty is very helpful students can approach and contact them any time and get any required help i like my physics teacher showkat sir who also is the head of the department of physics . i like him because he teaches and explains physics just like walter lewin you will never get bored in his class

there is a cafeteria in the college where students hangout and eat but the prices there are very inflated which rules out majority of students going there . there is not a single thing which costs less than 100 apart from the cup of tea i am a day scholar so i cant comment about night life but yeah it is located in srinagar which gives you an idea about safety
