Inside my college -gp latehar

The course curriculum in my college is overall fine and mostly relevent for diploma level, and one of the main reasons I choose this course was because the subjects were practical oriented and not too theoretical like degree colleges. Many parts of the curriculum actually help in understanding real–world basics like workshop practice, machine drawing, engineering mechanics and other core papers, so it gives a good foundation if someone wants to go for further studies. But still some topics feel little outdated and can be updated with more modern industry stuff. The teaching methods depend on teachers, some explain nicely with examples but some just read from book, so that part honestly can be improved for good students

In my college the placement system is not very strong because no big companies actually visit our campus. Students become eligible from 5th semester but still there is no regular campus drive. Sometimes small local garages or workshops come but they dont offer proper package, mostly they give training type work with very low salary. So there is nothing like highest or average package in my college, and only around 5–10% students manage to get some kind of job through their own contacts or relatives. Most of the students prefer to go for B.Tech or prepare for govt exams after diploma because campus placement is almost not there. My plan after completing the course is also to study further and look for better opportunities outside, since my college does not provide strong placement support. Overall placement in my college is weak and needs lot good improvement but the vishal sir is very good to get job for for others

In my college Government Polytechnic Latehar, the fee structure is actually very low compared to many other diploma colleges and that is one of the main reasons many students from nearby districts choose this institute. Our per semester fees mostly comes around 3200 to 3500 only, which includes the basic tuition fee of around 2400, then registration fee between 300 to 350, ID card around 50 rupees, and some small charges like caution money or special fees which is usually 200–200 kinds. So if we see it for the whole year, the total amount we pay is roughly 6 to 7 thousand only, which is honestly affordable for most students. For the entire 3-year diploma course the full fee comes around 18 to 20 thousand, depending on the semester charges and some minor variations, but overall it stays in the same range without any sudden increase. Even seniors from the older batches told us that fees were almost similar during their time also, so it’s clear that the college does not raise the fees every year like private institutes do. In my college the fees are almost the same for General and OBC category students, no big difference is there for them. But SC/ST category students get a good amount of scholarship through the e-Kalyan Jharkhand portal, so their final cost becomes very low. Some of my batchmates who are from SC/ST category said they get around 7 to 8 thousand scholarship per year, so in many cases their whole yearly fees gets covered and they basically end up paying almost nothing from their side, which is a huge help for them and their families. Our college doesn’t provide any special or separate scholarship scheme of its own, everything mainly works through the state government scholarship system only.

There is now too or more fest or annual festival because the teachers are too lazy for happening the fest or the things in my college that time today the principal is changes so theany festival are happeng or annual sports are happening

I choose GP Latehar mainly because it is literally infront of my house and that makes things very easy for me, like no travel cost and I can manage my time better. I had also checked few other govt colleges like GP Daltonganj and GP Ranchi but honestly their distance and hostel issues were a bit problem for me, plus the cutoffs were also slightly higher in some trades. I didn’t apply to many private colleges because the fees there are too high and I didn’t wanted any extra financial load on my family. The admission process here was simple, you just have to fill the JCECEB polytechnic form, wait for the counselling list and then go for document verification. The cutoff for my trade was manageable so I got the seat without much trouble. Compared to other colleges, the environment here is more relaxed and teachers are also helpful for local students, and since the college is near my home I can attend classes regular basis so I go that time

In my college the faculty-to-student ratio is decent, not too crowded, so teachers mostly know the students by face. Most faculties are approachable, but you have to go and talk, they don’t call students themselves. Some teachers are really helpful and explain topics nicely with examples, while a few teach very fast or stick only to the book, which sometimes becomes difficult for students to follow. Among the teachers I liked, one sir from Mechanical (you can add any name if needed) was very good at explaining practical concepts and always cleared doubts without attitude. There are also some teachers who I didn’t like much because they either didn’t interact properly or their teaching style was too theoretical, so classes felt boring. The course structure is normal diploma-level and mostly useful, though a few subjects feel outdated and could be updated with latest industry topics. Exams are taken semester-wise and generally not too difficult if you study regularly. Students who attend classes and do practicals properly mostly clear the exams, but some fail when they completely ignore theory or practical files. Marking is fair and mostly based on your answer writing and diagrams, and internal marks also matter a bit. Overall the curriculum is okay, not perfect but relevant enough for further studies or technical jobs, as long as you put your own efforts to gains thing or soething else

In my college GP Latehar, the nightlife is honestly not very fancy or modern type, but still we students somehow make it enjoyable in our own way. Most of the main facilities inside campus have early closing times, so that makes the evening a bit limited. The gym in my college usually shuts down around 6 PM and the library also closes by 5 or sometimes 5:30 PM, so after that there is not much to do academically. The cafeteria also doesn’t stay open too long, mostly it closes by 7 PM, but sometimes if more students are there it runs a little extra time. After my college in best in that area
