Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum in our college is quite structured and follows the RGPV syllabus. This provides both, practical and theoretical aspects. Subjects are ordered in such a way that the students learn basics of engineering in the first year, then moving to next semesters or year, the depth and knowledge of subject keeps increasing the level. The curriculum helps is such that it can be applied in real-world applications to a good extent. Not just plain and simple teaching, many events and workshops also take place to contribute in students knowledge. Exams are conducted timely as per the university (RGPV) schedule. Internals exams and practical exams also take place which helps us in monitoring things and studies in a better way. Overall, the curriculum is comprehensive and quite relevant.

Internships Opportunities

4

In our college, many internships are offered throughout the course, even one internship is compulsory to do in odd semesters, marks evaluation of internships also take place. Internships are offered by companies like BHEL, BSNL, many local IT firms. During internships, we students work on small technical projects, which helps us in gaining hands-on experience and makes us more job ready.

Placement Experience

4

In our college, placements take place in the final year of the course. By 7th semester, students are eligible to sit for placements. The placement opportunities are quite decent, an average package consists of 5 - 6 LPA every year. Several companies visit our campus like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, Cisco, etc. Now, startups also started to visit for placements. Highest package has been 72 LPA, and every year in off campus as well, many students achieve high package like 8 - 12 LPA. Nearly 70% of students gets placed, also some students has other plans for their future. About me, I think of going for placements in my final year for which I have started preparation.

Fees and Financial Aid

So I'm currently enrolled in BTech in ECE and my fees is 60,000 per year and it is quite affordable for me, the fees varies a bit for other students depending on situations. For other courses, the fees is nearly more than 1 lakhs or less than that. Scholarships are available for SC/ST/OBC students. Admissions through TFW are also available. Many other merit scholarships are also available. Hostel fees is included separately. Fees does not get increased usually, like only once in four years of the course. Overall, the fee structure is good and affordable for students who are dedicated towards studies.

Campus Life

4

Till now, it's been three years and I found the campus life to be very decent, vibrant, and I'd say, quite disciplined. Our college provides good balance between academic and extracurricular activities. The infrastructure is quite pretty and impressive, they always take care of the greenery around the and inside the campus, and that is something very nice. Wi-fi facility is also there in the campus. There are many student clubs and societies, which encourages us to keep being active. Overall, the environment here is quite friendly and safe, balancing student's academic as well as personal growth.

Admission

I applied to OIST after reviewing many other colleges in Bhopal, under which comes LNCT, TIT and SIRT. Personally, to me OIST seemed like a better option, because it found that it provided good opportunities in terms of placements, quality of education, support from faculty, and financially as well. I was not rejected from other colleges but my preferred branch was not offered to me, hence I had to look for other options as well. At OIST, the admission process is quite smooth since admission can be done through JEE counselling or through MP DTE counselling as well. My admission experience is good, since my admission got done through counselling. Even through 12th marks or percentage, Admission can be done. I found this college to be a reliable place to pursue engineering.

Faculty

4

In OIST, the faculty are quite experienced and well-qualified. Their way of teaching is quite impressive. They teach through Blackboards and Smartboards. The faculty-to-student ratio is good enough, such that the faculty members are there to solve each student's doubts, during the class and after the class as well. In ECE, there are nearly 15+ years of experienced professors, who provide theoretical and practical knowledge as well. There are many Assistant Professors as well. To be honest, there are no such faculties which I dislike. The faculties and students relationship is good, like faculty do monitor each student's progress and communicate to them. The exams are conducted twice a year, in the end of every semester, which are moderately tough but with preparation one can clear them. Mid-semester Examinations are held twice in a semester, which are moderately tough. The syllabus or course curriculum is quite relevant since we get knowledge about the technologies and concepts used in the real-world problems. Overall, I think the Faculty of OIST is really good and that is one of the reasons OIST emerges as a good option for students who wants to make a career in tech.

Night Life

4

The hostel of our college is good when it comes to hygiene and providing safety. There are separate hostels for girls and boys, there is a guest room present as well. The hostel provides facilities like gym, sports ground, delicious and hygienic food. There are many cafes and hang out places present around the college to keep students hooked, these are pocket-friendly as well. After classes, the canteen is there to go to and relax with friends. The canteen also provides decent food in affordable price.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If i talk about my specific aspect my brother recomment this college for me and as per of my jee scoure 47374 rank this what i get and i forget to apply for Internal branch change thats why this is how i end up . Curriculum is impressive but it good as in there imagination as its not good in real life. If they apply thing perfectly it really help in personal improvement and overall college performance. They should provide more clubs activity and practical soft skills activity as compare to there tight curriculum of constant memorizing courses I score a really good score not difficult that much and have no complain in frequency and timing but there is a story my IT course they faculty fails to complete my 2 units so in end sem i have to prepare it by my own in 10 days from scratch

I would rate it 6/10 because first year subjects and all are mostly unnecessary i guess. Its not required that much. There should be more focus on coding and problem solving in college which is often neglected.frequency and timing are fine of exams.

Yes that is true there is placements happened but average and low placement ratio there is because of students skills but for employability you can placed out of campus that is good option . After getting degree did mtech was good or other government like exam there was option and also out of campus placement with enough skill demand is a better option more than college placements

Campus placements are moderate as comparatively less companies visits every year. Number of students for placements are more and companies visits are less that cause less placement ratio for on campus. Moreover upto the end of 8th semester almost 80% of students get placed both including on campus and off campus. My plan is to get a job after graduation.
