What Students Say
Likes
- Facilities and their support and coordination with students
- Infrastructure and Medical facilities (Dispensary)
- Placement is good. Companies like Hashedin, Infosys, NewGen, LTI Mindtree etc come for placements.
Dislikes
- Heavy fee load. There are many small charges excluding tution fee makes it little costlier as per tier 3 college.
- Less placement ratio as less number of companies visit.
Course Curriculum Overview
Overall it's 7.5/10. IoT covers all core subjects including embedded systems, sensors and actuators, electronic devices etc whereas IT covers all Computers Science fundamental subjects. We also have some MOOC courses every year which are compulsory along with NPTEL courses which are compulsory in 3rd and 4th year. There are 5 compulsory NPTEL exams other than minor and honours.
Internships Opportunities
Some companies like Infosys, Accenture, LTI Mindtree, NewGen etc visits regularly every year. Also they provide PPO based internships to students. Our college provide research based internships for students who want to pursue higher education like masters and PhD. Our curriculum is very focused on projects for that minor and major projects is compulsory for students every semester. This helps student to gin hands on experience with real life projects and better understanding. Facilities are very supportive.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are moderate as comparatively less companies visits every year. Number of students for placements are more and companies visits are less that cause less placement ratio for on campus. Moreover upto the end of 8th semester almost 80% of students get placed both including on campus and off campus. My plan is to get a job after graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
Year wise fees structure of batch 2022-2026 is: Tution fee is around Rs. 65000 per year and for 4 years it's Rs. 2,60,000. One time addmission chargers are there for approximately Rs. 26,500. And other compulsory charger for first year is Rs. 23,000. This is total of ~Rs. 50,000 excluding tution fee. Various scholarships are available like pragati scholarship, medhavi etc for every student of general, obc and sc/st.
Campus Life
Some big annual fest include AARUNYA, JALSA, Garba fest etc. Monthly fests include robotics, coding event hunt etc. Large number of books and journals available in college library and issuing them is also very easy. In classrooms faculty teaches via projector for better clarity. MITS is very focused on sports. Highly encourage students to participate in annual sports day. Various clubs running accross college and some start ups also build. Facilities are very supportive towards start-up and research works.
Hostel Facilities
In hostels, they provide Water coolers, Washing machine, Geyser etc. these all already included in hostel fees so no extra charge has to give. Quality of food in mess is moderate. 24 hrs matron is present in hostel. Going out of hostel for holidays / home student need to signed PINK SLIP also they confirm via parents too.
Admission
I give JEE Mains exam. After than I sat for MP DTE councilling where I filled choices for SGSTIS Indore ,DAVV Indore ,MITS Gwalior, JEC jabalpur. In SGSTIS and DAVV I can only go with lowest branch so I op MITS Gwalior where I get seat in Information technology specialization in Internet of Things IoT. Yes I prefer students to come this college, as its core branches are very good in studies as well as placement wise. For specialized branches I don't recommend specially for Internet of Things branch.
Faculty
Teaching staff are good, educated, and experienced. Very helpful and support whenever needed. Teaching quality is also good and satisfying, and the nature of the faculty is also good and supportive. The course is so relevant and makes students ready for industry. Semester exams are held in every 6th months when semester ends. There is compulsory minor and major projects which give students hands on experience with practical life.
Interview Experience
GD topics are quite easy and based on current trends like AI , Human vs AI etc. They just check your communication skills of students. Discussion is also very friendly manner. Faculties guide us how to prepare for gd rounds and how to speak well professionally.
Night Life
Night life is not for girls in MITS campus. Girls hostel IN timings are in between 6 to 7 pm. There are strict rule for IN Time for girls. And no one is allowed to be outside after the IN Time of hostel. Regular night attendance in hostel is compulsory and in my opinion it's good with respect to girls security.
