Course Curriculum Overview

4

Many of the courses in the curriculum are quite outdated and there is a need to revise the syllabus of each course. The curriculum doesn't help much in real world applications unless someone is thinking about physics further.

Campus Life

The campus life is the college is very dependent on how happening one wants to make theirs. There are a lot of fests happening at different times of the year, Rendezvous, Tryst, Literati, for example. In the library, every course book is available.

Admission

In my Jossa counselling, I had applied to many different colleges and courses according to my rank in entrance exam. The eligibility of my college is to give JEE Advanced exam and then make a list of colleges at the time of counselling.

All the faculty at the Institute is highly qualified and the faculty to student ratio is very good. The professors are aprochable if you happen to have any doubts or maybe some project related work. Number of exams depends on the courses one is taking in a semester.

Night Life

4

Nightlife in the college is quite peaceful. There are night mess operating in hostels from 10-4 in the night. Also lot of cafe are also open at night such as amul and nescafe. But libraries and sports facilities close off at night.

Placement Experience:

Placements for DTU were on the good side of the industry and as compared to other colleges. The probability of landing a job in DTU mid-lower branch were higher than IPU top branches. I did got oncampus placement in the end of 4th year. Percentage of Student getting placed was: 70-75% as per my year. Minimum package in my branch was around 6LPA and Max was around 25 LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college used to be good, with almost 100% placement rates. But that hasn't been the case lately. There has been a significant drop in placement rates from the past couple of years, mainly because of the lack of job oppertunities and declining job markets. But, the placements are still better as compared to private colleges, NITs and newer IITs. The placements here are conducted in 2 phases. Phase 1 placements start in August- September, with the interviews starting from 1 December. The phase-2 placements start from January and then go on for entire semester. The student becomes eligible for sitting in placements in their 7th semester. While phase 2 placements are still not over for this year, I can share the placements stats of previous year. Around 70% students sitting for placements got placed. Rest students either prepare for civil services, or for higher studies like M.Tech, MBA,PhD, etc., but their percentage is very less. Most students come here only for internships and placements. The average package package for previous year was around ?15-16 LPA, and median package was around ?14 PLA.

Placements can be as high as 16L per year. The average package of placements is 4L-5L. But only top students get wide opportunities in the placement area, which is why the percentage of students getting placements is not great. Companies like IOCL, HPCL and TCS are among the major recruiters that come to this college.
