What Students Say
Likes
- Good campus life all year around, you would get a plenty amount of time to explore the campus and chill out
- Good alumini network is really good. Its a speciality of being admitted into Tier 1 engineering college.
- Teaching faculty is really helpful in my department (Mechanical Department), They also help us getting our research paper published and also help correct the research papers in the final phase.
Dislikes
- DTU was known for Best Cultural fest in all of Northern India, but now these fests has lost its energy due to some managing problems.
- The distance from the parking gate to the classroom is very long and tiring especially in summer. It takes 10-15 mins by foot to reach our classrooms.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness is not that much updated to the current market standards. But the course does cover the basic foundation for all the streams and courses across all batches. Teaching methods could be more student answering oriented so as to improve the intereaction and attentiveness.
Placement Experience
Placements for DTU were on the good side of the industry and as compared to other colleges. The probability of landing a job in DTU mid-lower branch were higher than IPU top branches. I did got oncampus placement in the end of 4th year. Percentage of Student getting placed was: 70-75% as per my year. Minimum package in my branch was around 6LPA and Max was around 25 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
First Year: 1,65,000 Second Year: 1,90,000 Third Year: 2,15,000 Fourth Year: 2,40,000 Total fees: 8,10,000 *Note: All the values and fee structure mentioned above are approximate value not exact one. This is the amount I paid in my year , Batch 2019-2023. Yes the fees is increasing every year more than the rate of inflation
Campus Life
Overall experience for the college is really good. This college gave my learnings. This college gave my some very great friends who stood by my side through thich and thin. This college gave a launching pad to sete my career on the path towards leadership and hustling mindset. It did also gave me lots of good memories . The fests were great. Library was one the best places to cool off in the summer heat and to study also ofcourse. Student run social groups were active in all parts of the college. In literature, art, dancing, singing, hosting societies.
Admission
I chose this college because it has the best alumini network in India. The placement oppurtunities for this college were really good as compared to other IPU colleges in Delhi. It had the best ROI for me as per future growth and connection with senior which can't be quantified.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is around 1:20 in my batch. Teachers were very supportive. I really liked the Prof. Mahji Sir who taught us Automobile engineering. His way of teaching really cleared my understanding how an IC engine works and function. I didnt like the Electrical department, they have strict marking scheme and exam is really tough There are approximately 5-6 exams in mid semester and then 5-6 exams in end semester (it may change according to the credits choses per semester)
Night Life
Nightlife of DTU was great. Lots of green cover and wide spaces to chill and hangout with friends. Gym was kind of old and had some rusty machines but it worked fine for hostel students. One of the best things were that students were highly involved in sport activites and competitive sports events every semester and every year. Best places to hangout were Mech C and in the sports playground.
