Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum offers a solid and backbone foundation in core engineering subjects that is ideal for building knowledge and skills in core fields. Curriculum offers two labs in each semester from first semester to sixth semester and a seminar in and one lab in seventh semester and project in last year. It also promote sin research and innovative thinking. Offers electives , minor and honours for extensive learning for students. Each semester in ktu consist roughly for a time period of 4 months . This time epriod can be extended to accurately 6 months.
Placement Experience
From seventh semester students will be eligible for campus placements Comapnies visited are Walkaro , Talrop. L & T , Infosys, Viseton etc. Mainly software comapnies are visiting for placement drives. An avaerge of 4 lakhs per annum are provided by the companies and the number of offers made are very less as compared to other colleges. Percentile of students getting placements are very less. Plans after Btech is cracking GATE.
Fees and Financial Aid
A year consists of 2 semesters. So a total of 8 semesters in 4 years. For all categories. Tution fees for odd semester is nearly 5790/- and for even semester is nearly 3150/- . Examination fees each paper costs 210/- and in case of lab each paper costs 420/-.. An insurance scheme named Suraksha that should be enrolled and renewed by every student and its mandatory and each year it costs an amount or 100/-. According to my fees structure detailed fees are listed below Firts semester - 15650/- Second semester - 1700/- Third Semester - 8600/- Fourth semester - 5985/- Fifth Semester - 8625/- Sixth Semester - 5455/- Seventh Semester - 7775/- Eighth Semester - 5035/- Aida and Scholarships Merit Cum Scholarship - Based on merit and income , each year an amount will be credited accordingly In my case I got 10,000 in first year , 12000/- in second year , 15000/- in third year and 20,000/- in fourth year . Other scholarships are Egrantz, Fisheires Grant , Samunydha etc
Campus Life
In 2025 each department conducts an exhibition including projects and miniprojects . Sports day and related activities are conducted regularly. The Library consists of access to IEEE papers and other journals . Music club, dance club and NSS are going very well..
Admission
I have applied to 9 Governmnet engineering colleges . I got admission from Government Engineering College Wayanad and from Kozhikode. Both the admissions were denied due to travelling reasons. The admission procees is based on an entrance exam KEAM . The rank in this eaxm reulst in the allotment of students in different colleges.
Faculty
In each depeartment approximately 22 faculties are working. Faculties are well qualified and they had gained their graduation from NITs and IITs. Faculties are very approachable and helpful for students. Each semester consists for 2 series exams and a main semester exam.
Night Life
Construction of gym in campus is under construction process. Campus has a canteen and library . Table tennis and volley ball are the main sport events in our college . Hostel timings for girls Hostel gate closes at 9:30 pm and opens at 6:00 am. Gilletin tree, Painavu para and other spots are inside the campus The locality has signs of monkeys, elephants and wild pigs.
