My College Life at SASTRA University.

The college generally gives more preference to academics compared to extra curricular activities, Coming to exam structure in SASTRA University there are three midterms that happen per semester and one final sesmester examinations. They take best of two in midterms and add on it with the final semster examinations score to calculate your final grad, based on your subject grades SGPA AND CGPA are calculated.

The bring out opportunities to pre final year students as well where they can try to grab the opportunity and have 2 months of industry real world expereince after the 3rd Year.I would say internships are quite limited but in the end they are based on your skills and potential.

I would say irrespective of branch you are pursuing, the university would bring you enough opportunities where you can showcase your skills and potential to the employer.The University not only helps students with their training but also conducts company specific skill sessions. The most important aspect at SASTRA University is the importance given to Professional skill development.

The fee structure at sastra university is quite different where you have to pay semester wise tution fee of average of 75000 per semester which is like 1,50,000 per year and I feel this is quite average compared to other colleges because here the fee structure is same for all students that is there is no option of Management quota or reservation quota in the college.The college is purely based on meritocracy that is they focus on your academic scores that is +12 scores and JEE scores.

The campus life is one of the most precious memories I haveat the university. The friendships I made at SASTRA University improved my expereince significantly.The University has different clubs along with various inter-college teams . Daksh and Kuruksastra are the two of the biggest techno and cultural fests of SASTRA University. You can try out different activities to discover what fascinates you and go into that club to meet like minded people and make memories.

The hostels are pretty good at sastra university where they provide different types of accomodation based on your need . There are single rooms, 2-1 rooms , 3-1 rooms , 4-1 rooms and the room rent varies from 10000-20000 yearly. Mess fee is seperate which has to be paid monthly based on the hostel you stay.

I felt sastra was the only college were meritocracy was given perefernce, that is there is no sort of Management quota or reservations at SASTRA University. The admission completely depends on your academic scores that is +12 scores and JEE Scores based on which rank is generated and based on rank seat at particular branch is alloted.

The faculties at SASTRA University are amazing because each and every professor or lecturer at SASTR University has strong expertise in their specific domain.Its not just because of the knowledge they possess but they will teach each and every aspect of the subject practically.The professors provide you practical demonstrations. Students are provided with in-house technical sessions, industry specific podcases.This not just helps you understand theoritically but also improves your practical knowledge.

Yes the Gym , canteens and library are very good at sastra university . Coming to hostel timings for boys its till 9:30 PM where has for girls it is till 6:30 PM and one more thing to note is that girls are not allowed to go out of campus.
