Course Curriculum Overview

4

Coaching a very friendly to the students and students for always in a way of learning those courses as these are designed again such a way so that students don't get pressurized by them. Our courses are highly updated as per current needs of the jobs opportunities. The teaching method of our professors includes practicals along with the theory so that the clarity in the subjects is obtained by the students. Professors and teachers should take the students to explore the different areas of where it shouldn't can learn in a better way with the fun which is a very good thing for the students to get their engagement. The timings set for the examination by the institute is fine and is very flexible to the students. The level of difficulty of the question paper is relatable to the students.

Internships Opportunities

5

A lot of companies offer internships to the students with stipend. Like students got opportunity from google, microsoft etc for internships and students are also given opportunity to do internships abroad.

Placement Experience

4

At the end of the fourth year of the graduation students become eligible for the campus placements various companies visit to a campus like Microsoft Google Netflix meta etc. The highest campus placement goes in crores and average is also satisfactoryit is all between 25 to 30 lacs per year. In civil engineering department the highest placement was around 50 lacs and the lowest placement was around 8 - 9 lacs and average placement was around 14 lakhs per year. Almost 80 to 90% of the students are getting placed in civil department each year and almost 80% of the camp presidents are in getting placed every year in their final year. After completing my BTech civil engineering I wish to become a good civil engineering and wanted to work in Indian engineering service

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fee is same for everyone and it is 223000 Rs per year. But there are fee waivers for SC, ST students they are exempted from paying tuition fee which is around 125000 Rs per year. There are also tution fee waiver for general students based on their annual family income. Students with family income less than 100000 Rs their tution fee is waived off and students having family income less than 2 or 3 lacs their two third of tuition fee is waived off. Other academic fees other than tuition is applicable to all. There are several scholarship available for students like NSP, reliance, ffe, nfs etc.

Campus Life

5

Our Institute hosts a lot of events and technical fests each academic year. Like Cosmo is held in the month of November and nitrutsav is held in the month of January. Sports first like vriddhi is also held each year in which different institutes along the state and country participate. There are a lot of sports held within the campus like intra hall and inter hall competitions in which students participate to play different types of sports along their team. Fashion shows and fitness competitions are also hosted. Students also run a lot of social groups like spicmacay, aasra, Rotaract etc. there are more than 80 clubs in our institute in which students participate to learn and contribute in those clubslike financial club, coding club, technical club etc. the overall campus life is a very excellent.

Hostel Facilities

5

Free room cleaning facility is provided twice a week and washing machine to wash the clothes. Food menu is different for each day of the week and it is highly affordable to the students. Hostel charges 7000 per semester of six months.

Admission

I chose a lot of colleges for the admission based on their records of placements infrastructure and the alumni network. I chose colleges like NIT Rourkela, NIT Trichy, NIT SURATKAL etc. and I got the chances to pursue my B.tech in civil engineering mining engineering and food processing engineering etc. choices in Joseph counselling according to college with their branches and the allotment of the colleges with branches takes place in different rounds like this we are given a branch in a particular Institute which we actually put in our choices. The highly preferable choice according to our rank the college with the branch is allotted to us present in our choice list. Cutoffs vary every year for the admission of students. I got 98.5% tile in JEE mains and then I got civil engineering in NIT Rourkela to study. Those who are students who want to take admissions in a nits and the IITs have to go through the JEE mains examination and they have to qualify it to get into them.

Faculty

5

Faculty ratio is quite good. There is healthy relationship between the factory and the students I gulel to support the students for different activities including academy. The behaviour of the professors are very good and are always in support of the students. In every semester two times exams are conducted that i mid sem and end sem. Admission is given to the students on the basis of their JEE mains rank and the process of admission goes through the Jossa councelling in which they are allotted the colleges with their respective branches.

Night Life

5

Our institute has one large central library. There more than four open cafeteria inside the campus for students and stationery shops for students to buy books and notebooks. Our also has one central gym. There 3 playgrounds. In our campus. Every hostel has its personal canteen, stationery shop, gym, mess and volleyball court, reading room as well as TV room. Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
