College Days

Electrical and electronics is one of the best and oldest branches of Engineering. Also, the abstarct thinking and amount of hard work required in this branch makes it the toughest as well. But on the other side, it is also very interesting to study the subjects inside this branch. The subjects like network analysis, power electronics, micro-processors, electrical machines and power systems requires high order thinking and deep concentration. But of course, I want to suggest that practical aspects should be more for teaching instead of theoretical approaches.

1st year: admission fees:- 51000 Tuition fees:- 1,46,960 library deposit:- 2000(Refundable) University fees:- 9240 from 2nd year onwards Rs.2,40,000(Tuition fees) per year Above fees structure is for COMEDK students i.e non-karnataka students For other candidates I don't know.

The infrastructure and architecture of college campus is very good and well maintained. Separate building for every departments and well maintained laboratories. The books and journals are easily available and also can be issued on temporary basis if we will have a library pass and identity card. Smart classroom teaching is also available but teachers give their complete effort in chalk and green board teachings as well which I think is much better. In my department there is an xtrogenesis club where at any time new ideas are welcomed and who ever wants to work on those ideas can work. Other famous groups like IEEE and IES are also there.

I don't applied for other colleges except NIT's and IIT's. I don't think there is any need to mention that anyone will opt IIT's and NIT's instead of private colleges but yes I will tals about the admission process here. For non-karnataka student, an entrance examination named COMEDK is conducted every year for taking admission in engineering colleges of Bengaluru. For Karnataka student , KCET (Karnataka common entrance test) is conduceted. Eligibility:- min 50% in 10th and 12th cutoffs vary every year, mostly on the basis of marks ranks are calculated and on the basis of that in the counselling process we do the choice filling. In the final round we will get the college and stream as per our preference. Be careful sometimes they also conduct a bonus round in counselling process if the seats don't get filled in the initial round of counselling.

Faculty to student ratio is outstanding. Some faculty members are very nice, cooperative and always ready to help students. Mrs. Deekshita Arasa from the Electrical & Electronics department is one of the best faculty of the college in terms of both teaching and student teacher relationship. I don't think any faculty is not good in my department. I don't know about other departments much but as per my knowledge they are also good. The level of examinations are nice. There are 3 internals combinedly for 50 marks and one semester end examination for 100 marks but rounded to 50 making a total of 100 marks ot of which 40 marks is mandatory for clearing the subject.

A nice and well maintained gyms are available in the campus. Cafeterias are also there but they are quite costly. Hostel and campus timings are from morning 7:00 A.M to night 9:00 P.M. I think it is good due to security concerns.
