Course Curriculum Overview

2

The course curriculum is pretty outdated, they need to update it. The professors try to accomodate and teach stuff out of the syllabi as per the emerging trends. The difficulty level is average and the exams are easy to score on.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee was really cheap for my course. I had to pay around 2000 every even semester which means for the duration of 6 semesters I paid 6000 in total. There is a relaxation for fee for ST SC students residing in hostels. The hostels are cheap as well, they charge you around 5k a year and the monthly mess due varies but doesnt go beyond 2k. The provision for scholarships are available for marginalised communities and students coming from a weak financial background. Information about fees and scholarships is clearly mentioned in the Information bulletin and it gets updated every year.

Campus Life

3

The infrastructure isn't quite "university like". I don't like it at all since is doesnt have a concrete campus yet, but it's in the process and shall be complete by the next 5 years or sure. Extracurricular acitivites are quite fun here, something or the other keeps happening in the sports and cultural font. It has debate, poetry and literature clubs, sport clubs for cricket, football etc. The library is rich and advance in facilities.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilties are so so. You can't expect much from rented hostel buildings, but most of them are old hotels and homestays converted into hostel rooms, a different experience I would say. The food is fine and sometimes worse, a typical central university hostel thing. Its cheap so you can always manage to source your own food. The hostel registration and admission happens along with college admissions. Pg's are expensive here, so staying in a hostel or renting a flat/room with friends would be better .

Admission

I chose this college because it was feasible and close to my state (Assam). It was the only central university close to my state which provided psychology honors. The admission was purely merit based as it was during covid. But now they take in students on the basis of CUET scores. The cut off through CUET is comparitively pretty less

Faculty

3

The deapartment pf psychology has less faculty members, but the faculty is really helpful and friendly. They have well equipped facilities necessary for the course structure, the lab has all the necessary tests and the classrooms are well equipped with smart boards. Since the class strength is around 25 people, the environment is pretty cozy and comfortable. The exam pattern goes like- 3 sessional tests in one semester of 25 marks each (the test might be written, a presentation or any sort of assignment). Out of these three, best of two will be considered to be added in the final marksheet. The end sem exam is of 50 marks. So total weightage is of 100 marks. Its really easy to score and maintain a good cgpa here.

Night Life

5

The campus nightlife doesnt exists as such, its the city night life thats all matters. Its fun, hanging out with friends here is really fun, cool spots, fun people and surroundings. You'll definitely make good memories in and around the city. The city feels young and safe.
