Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum has everything that a manager needs to know at the bachelor's level focusing more on application rather than memorizing the book. Something that could be improved is inclusion of certain basic terminologies in certain courses instead of directly starting with the case studies. Two exams are conducted every semester, one mid term and one end term, during the class timings itself which are not so difficult pass, given you paid attention during the lecture. Apart from these, students are regularly assessed during presentations, both individual and group.

Internships Opportunities

1

I got an internship at Diya Foundation, Bangalore. It is an non government organisation that specialises in teaching individuals with intellectual disability enabling them to earn a livelihood. It was a social internship, hence, it was unpaid.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total annual fee, including everything, is rupees 80,000 for students of general category whereas for the students of the reseved categories, it is rupees 10,000. A fee waiver is also rolled out for the students of the EWS category. A merit scholarship of rupees 8,000 is also given every semester to top performers of each class.

Campus Life

4

Only one fest is organised every year which is not very grand, no artist is invited to perform. All the stalls and performances are by students. The library is well equipped with all the resources a student might need. All the classrooms have a projector and are air conditioned along with the library and the 3 computer labs. There is a variety of extracurricular and cultural societies to choose from like: the 90's kids- the theatre society, Alankar - the music society, Odori- the dance society, Society of Visual Culture, the History Society and Inara- the fashion society. There are 2 basketball courts, a football field and a tennis court which are shared with the IGDTUW.

Admission

I applied for BA Psychology in DU and for BBA in AUD and IPU. I got into DU when the 5th list was released but the colleges I could get were off campus and the IPU colleges were all in Noida and Ghaziabad which is a 2 hour commute from my place so I chose AUD as it suited me the best.

Faculty

4

Two teachers are assigned to every course, a professor and an assistant professor (usually a PhD scholar). Various guest lectures are organised frequently. Various field trips are organised to provide students with an insight into how the business function. All the teachers are very approachable and helpful inside and outside the class. I really liked Prof. Valentina who taught various courses relating to business and society because of her unique style of teaching engaging students to interact and think out of the box. Apart from regular presentations throughout the semester, there is a mid term and an end term exam which range from moderate to not so difficult. There was not a single student in my batch who failed. The course curriculum is very much relevant, in fact, it is really great as it focuses on an application based approach

Night Life

3

Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk are both at a distance of ten minutes from the campus and Rajiv Chowk/Connoaught Place is just three metro stations. The campus opens at seven in the morning and students and can then enter.

The average package is around 5-6LPA, with highest 10-12LPA for top profiles. Around 50-60% got placed. I planned to pursue an MBA and build my profile through certifications.

Placement Experience:

BBA students usually become eligible for campus placements in their final year, mainly during Semester V and VI. Before final placements, students also get opportunities for internships and training, which helps them understand the recruitment process and prepare better for final placements. A variety of companies from different sectors visit the campus for BBA placements, mainly from consulting, finance, marketing, and operations backgrounds. Well-known companies such as Deloitte, KPMG, ICICI Bank, and other corporate firms have recruited BBA students in recent years. While the exact number of offers varies each year, a good number of eligible students receive placement opportunities through campus drives. The highest package has gone upto 17 lpa and the average package is 6-7 lpa It has around 60-80% students getting placed which is decent.

So, once the students are in 3rd they are asked to appear for the interview and most students of our university do crack them with ease.
