Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is mostly relevant to the course opted and there is no need to worry of how much useful it is going to be because from the basics most of the things are included in the syllabus. With respect to the real world understanding , such concepts are taught mostly from the 3rd year until then it is only building knowledge in basics. The exam is for 3 hours and internal exam is for 1.5 hours. One thing I felt could be changed in the teaching method is giving practice for approaching questions rather than complete theory.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship opportunities in college is actually good because students who have not done any internship until the 6th semester are offered internship in government sectors through the help of college. Only some companies provide stipend and the rest it's only for learning

Placement Experience

4

Campus drive starts happening from the 7th semester and they do provide placement training in the 6th semester. Companies like Avalara, HCL,cognizant, Comcast, valeo, ashok leyland ,L&T have visited but this year the number is slightly low .The highest package offered by the company was 22 LPA and average is about 7 LPA

Fees and Financial Aid

I have taken addmission through the government quota so my feelings was about 1.5L and the fee structure for management quota is different. Students who come under the 7.5 reservation quota have no tuition fee and there are reduction in fees for students from Jammu and Kashmir and rural areas based on the scores.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good at SSN . There is good interaction among students and lots of clubs that keeps the students engaged. The library has a vast collection of books and is easily accessible. Every classroom has a projector and mostly the ppt is presented and lessons are taught using that. Various Sports like carrom, basketball, cricket, football, badminton table tennis ,throwball ,kho kho are encouraged and there is college team formed at every start of the year.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are different types of accommodation provided. Single rooms , double sharing, triple sharing, AC and non AC like that. The quality of meals is not that great the menu is fixed always making it completely boring. Every room has cots provided and basic facilities like fans, lights, cupboards etc. To enroll into the hostel you can talk to the principal and then fill up the form the warden provides. The hostels are located within the campus with boys and girls hostel separately at good distance.

Admission

I had also applied for sasthra college in Tanjore got addmission also, but I opted for this because I felt this city would give me a much better exposure and experience than Tanjore. The admission process for government quota does not require any entrance exam basic cut off is only seen. For management quota there is entrance exam and interview to be cleared

Faculty

4

The faculty support can obviously not be expected much as in school but they provide good knowledge in the subject they teach. They are open to doubts and help with the names of books that need to be referred. Help for Exam preparation is also good and students are given ppts to refer which was used in class to teach. So there are basically 2 sets of internal exams conducted every month and then the final lab and end semester exams. The relevancy of the course curriculum mostly starts from the 3rd year only until then it is of mixed syllabus

Night Life

5

The college has gym facility too separate for girls and boys. Hostel students can walk arround the campus until 10pm after which the gates of boys hostel is to be closed and for girls the closing time is 8:30pm. This is within the campus and there are lots of restrictions to go out of the main gate. For girls hostel the students must call up their parents and get approval from their warden a day before they go so that they get an outpass without which you cannot exit the college campus. There are totally 5 eat out places and one stationary shop too next to library where we can take print outs.
