Remarks

Our college has always helped us in academics as well cultural careers. They have been very strict in case of poor performance in classes and always organize a parent teacher meeting. They make sure students maintain a minimum attendence. Also our teachers are very helpful in reasearch and project works. The college has provided a clean and proper canteen where every staff can get food at minimal cost. Our college always embrace street animals and never posted a ban on them which encourages a care giving nature among all the people

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum was entire set by the university. And our college follows the rules entirely. As per Calcutta University two semesters take place in a year. One in the month of December-January and next in the monthbof June-July. The marks of both the semesters are evaluated to test whether a student get promotion to next year or not.

Placement Experience

4

Every year many top job recruiters and companies visit our college for seminers, interviews, job exams. Our college personally invites recruiters through our placement cell and our professors make sure that we visit every interviews and seminar to get better idea about what we want to do in our future. Some companies give stipend during internship and few recruits directly.

College Events

5

The whole year there are many events held in our college. Starting from the first, every year during june or july there is fresher's programme. Every department celebrate their fresher's programme individually and our union celebrate fresher's party as a whole for all the new students of the college. In the month of august on 12th, Bethune day is celebrated observing the death anniversary of John Elliot Drinkwater Bethune with all the teachers and students. A tree plantation prgramme known as banomahotsab is also organized in that day. Independence day and Republic day are celebrated with flag hoisting, March Past and Drill. Every year during winter our college participates in number of inter college fests and intra college fests in many programmes like western dance, bollywood dance, classical dance, singing, rangoli, quiz, debate, photography, art and craft etc. Aalap has been the name of our Annual Cultural College Fest. Many bands have performed in our colleges. Annual sports are held also in this time. Students participate in Badminton, 100m race, bicycling etc. Indoor games competition like carrom, chess etc are also held. College has provided a gym section and a games room for student to practice for the whole year. The annual prize distribution ceremony is organized during february where students also perform in a cultural event. Rabindra Jayanti has been a major celebration of bethune every year where students presents different dance, drama, singing and recitation acts.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is extremely economical. The montly session fess is 110. And the session charges are also very less. The admission fees and the tuition fees for next 6 months are taken during admission but if a student leaves the college then the tuition fees are refunded.

Admission

Admission in my course was entirely based on merit list. The capacity was of 35 students. And the first 50 or 70 students from merit list were called for the first admission. I was not chosen in the first admission. Within few weeks few students transferred to other colleges and there were many vacant seats. That is when the next few students from the merit list were called for the second admission and this time I got selected.

Faculty

4

Our colleges have extremely talendted and educated professors. They actually get along with students very well. They help the students in every project work and motivates them for everything possible for their bright future.
