Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is very good it is very understanding to everyone.. Everyone are adjusting with the course whatever the teacher teaches us if we mind the teacher then we can easily cover up that topic

Internship program is very good we have one of the best teachers to help in the internship.. We are sent to many palces like ONGC NRL OIL etc for internship and many more good good companies.. It is good to study in this collage

Fees and Financial Aid

It is one of the best collage which offers various courses such as b. Tech and b. Sc we have many department such as power electronics and instrumentation... Electronics and telecommunications.. Civil.. Mechanical.. Physics.. Chemistry... Information technology... Maths.. We have very well equipped facilities having all the facility in collage clean rooms pds teachers and have a very warm good environment. . . the fees we pay is just a marginal amount on basis of the facility we are having

Campus Life

Overall experience is very good sports section and other cultural section is very impressive.. There are various clubs like robotics tinkering lab etc and they are always open many chances we get there a very large environment

Admission

It is near my home and it is one of the best collages in assam to pursue b. Tech and i dreamt of taking instrumentation and i got instrumentation there so that is the main reason.. Other reasons includes that my manu friends are also in that collage my elder brother sister are also there

Faculty

Facility members are just awesome.. Tremendous hardworking and very supporting.. We have 3 cie exams of 20 marks in 1 sem and having end sem exam in between there are practical lab project group assignment ppt and various other tasks to perform

Night Life

Night life around my collage is good but as i am not from hostel pg i don't know much about that but as per my knowledge i hear rhat everyone are very kind generous and very supportive they study play together

Nit Silchar the beautiful college to visit

Placement Experience:

The placements are really good here top companies visit every year offer lot of packages. The placements generally starts from 7th semester and continue till end of 8th semester. Mainly the highest package is offered by tech companies and last year it was about 52 LPA. The average package is about 14LPA for Electronics and Instrumentation branch. And 52 LPA is highest. Almost 85-90% students get placed.

Placement Experience:

The college placement aren't much in our college because our college is too deep inside the area it's like a village area companies find it difficult to come here. Companies mostly come for chemical and mechanical engineering students to hire them. For electrical and civil you have to apply off campus. I don't know the highest package from our college but the recent package that was offered by mahindra to mechanical engineering students was 19000 per month. Atleast 35% students get on campus placement. My plan after degree is to pursue mtech or maybe BFA in Seoul, South Korea or maybe find a job outside india

Students become eligible from 6th semester itself. Companies visited include Vedanta Mining, TCS, Edtech companies, HUL,Indus Tower, Capgemini, Cognizant,. Average package 5 LPA PERCENTAGE of students getting placement lies at nearly 60%

Placement Experience:

there are on campus placements but there are not many students who got a good placement .only 4th year students sit for campus placement . almost all of them get placed but majority of them chose to go for goverment exams or higher studies becuse of the good oppurtunity there . almost 20-40% students get placed with average package of 2.5 lpa and the higest been 20 lpa . many agri based company vist us for placement like manidra , amul etc.

I have been studying since 2018 in this college

Remarks:

The entire administration of the college is very careless. They don't seem to bother about the students at all. But they always put a bar on the attendence criteria. Each and every student need to have atleast 75% attendence in each subject. Otherwise penalty is imposed on them. Ironically classes are not conducted on a regular basis.

I chose JIST because of its balance between affordability, academic structure and accessibility compare to many private engineering colleges JIST offers a government aided set up with lower fee which was an important factor for me at the same time. It provides a stable academic environment with focused engineering curriculum, other reason was location JIST is situated in Jorhat, which is relatively well-connected and has a calm academic atmosphere compared to colleges in bigger cities.
