Course Curriculum Overview

4

My decision for choosing economics and political science is because these subjects will help me for the government exams and the field of each subject is very vast. Both the subjects are quite relatable to the real world and mainly towards our society. The college faculty members take class test every month and a assignments on a very imp topic that we should know about it more.

Internships Opportunities

4

Vivekananda College provide internships through the placement cell of the college named as "ARISE". I'm not a part of this so I don't have much knowledge about it. But this cell organise the councelling session and orientations through which students can enyin internship that are paid which can be online or offline, internships provide a experience to the students.

Placement Experience

4

Vivekananda College of Delhi University provide many internship opportunities in which any of the year's students can participate. There is a particular cell organized by the college in which 2nd and 3rd year students can apply for the placements, there are soo many companies collaborate with the college, but the companies do not provide much more packages the average package of our college is 5.16LPA. My plans are different so I haven't enrolled in any placement cell.

Fees and Financial Aid

When I got admission in the college, my 1st year annual fee was 15000 as tution fee, the exam registration fee for 1st sem exam was 1110 and for 2nd sem it was 1310. For 2nd year, the annual tution fee was 13250 and the exam registration fee for 3rd sem was 1010 and for 4th sem, it was 1310. For 3rd year the annual tution fee was 13500 and the exam registration fee for 5th sem is 810. There is not any other additional fees for labs or any other purpose. The scholarship is also provided for the economically weaker students by filling the scholarship form. The additional scholarship is also provided for the students of each course who get maximum cgpa yearly.

Campus Life

5

The college organise fest like diwali fest dandiya fest and the societies of college also organise fests like meraki, pallavi etc. The college library is good and the accessibility for book is easy, there are so many course books and other books that helps us for other exams and knowledge, newspapers of 8-10 types are also available in the college library, we can study in library in our free time. The projectors are also available in most of the classrooms and teachers use them for our study. There are many sports events in our college like Athletics, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Yoga and Hockey. Any of the student can join sports. I am also an athlete. The university conduct intercollege games event through which we can play on national level. There are many societies as well for different perspectives like consulting society, Finance society, Drama society, Art and craft society, Western Dance Society, Classical dance society, Singing society and some other.

Admission

I applied for the delhi university colleges with the combination of economics and political science and through CUET score I got vivekananda college with this combination, I haven't applied for any other university. The admission process is through CUET Exam conducted by NTA, after the result declaration of cuet we have to apply for different universities with the course we want to choose, every university give thier registration form for admission and then after that the university select students on the basis of cuet marka and the preference list we had submitted to the university for the course we want to enroll in. Cutoff for every University as well as Colleges is different on the basis of the demand for that particular University or college. The category wise reservation admission is also applied.

Faculty

5

The Faculty to student ratio is around 1 on 40 on an average and the relationship between the students and teachers is very friendly, the teachers are very supportive, every teacher focuses on each student. As I am the student of Economics major and Political Science minor , for each subject faculty is good but I like economics faculty more as they provide us extra knowledge for the future and guide us on every step, other faculty members are also good. The exams are conducted semester wise after every 6 months and the overall CGPA for a year is calculated by adding to semesters. The exam pattern is not too tough and not too easy , if you attend every lecture, exams will be more easier.

Placement Experience:

placement and internship fares are regularly conducted on campus where various companies which are mostly start-ups visit to recruit students for internships and entry level roles. Students become eligible for internships from the first year itself. placement opportunities are generally available after the completion of the full degree and only final year. Students are eligible to apply for full-time rules. last during our last internship and placement fair over 20 companies visited and recruited almost 150 candidates. There are no separate records distinguishing internship from placement. The highest package reported for economics honours is around 12 lakhs per annum and the average package is approximately five lakhs per annum. As per my future plans,I intend to pursue a masters degree after completing my undergraduate course.

For USME, FMCG and Financial companies are the ones which are put in place. The only reason is that those are the companies where we can add value and placements of both courses of USME happens together and combined if I say around 75% students are placed. My plan though is to join GIPE after my graduation ends this year.

DTU because East campus is more known for USME placements revolve around us. Now core companies of our sectors are the ones that deals with finance, insurance or stocks. So nearly 20-30 companies of that space or sector hires over 100 students of BAE every year.

Our college has a very active and effective placement cell. Major companies like Goldman Sachs, Bain among many others come on campus for not just placements but also internships. Average and Median packages are between 8 and 10 lakh per annum, with highest packages going up to 25 lakhs. Many also go for postgraduate education, such as MBA after CAT, or to reputed colleges like the DSE for MA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Too vague to understand, feels extra burden of unnecessary irrelevant topics , extra papers like SEC/VAC simply add to the burden while barely providing with any skills and values as their name suggests . Studying them and preparing for exams add extra stress and unnecessary burden on them , diverting their focus from their core papers , which are already too huge and they study materials or readings simply fail to assist . Areas for improvement would be - proper structured study materials , also proper structured practical subjects / papers for students where they can actually learn or gain knowledge/skills which will be advantageous in their future .
