I did apply to Chandigarh University, and I did get into it however an honours in PU is for 4 years while at DU its for 3/4 years both- this was a major decisive point. also DU does hold more respect and honour in terms of a university and specially LSR does give you that exposure, growth and confidence. I applied to Delhi University, banaras hindu university and vanasthali vidyapeeth but my first preference was du only that too the top colleges like lsr , hindu college, miranda house, kmc,ramjas. I wasn't rejected anywhere . I had decent marks so I cleared the cut offs of all the colleges (that year admission was based on 12th percentage) .Among these I chose lsr becz of its first ranking in political science course. Lsr is one of the best colleges for humanities and commerce courses and for political science it is number one. And it's brand value , high placements also made me choose it. Now since the introduction of new education policy, admission is completely based on common University entrance test(CUET) . Cutoffs are high for lsr . It's usually more than 700 for all the courses. So I choose this college because it is one among the best college of Delhi University and the allumni network of lsr is really great. Including famous personalities from Bollywood, civil services, and athletes as well like Manu bhakar and Tina dabi. Lsr was my for 2nd preference the first was Shri Ram College of commerce which is basically in the north campus. But I wasn't able to make it to that college because of the high cut off. At the end of the day I am very happy that I am in lsr because this is the college where you will find women empowerment to our next level and if you are an under confident person then come to lsr it will make you a very confident person because girls here uplift each other. And most importantly you will find more safety here as compared to other colleges so you can wear any kind of dress you want I believe that's the major point. To the admission process of my college is similar to other colleges of Delhi University which is basically through the C u e t exam and then registered to Delhi University portal after that according to your marks you will be allotted college so we have to firstly make a preference list of all the colleges we would like to take admission into and based on the marks colleges are allocated. After that there are some document verification that are made by the college so that's the whole process basically. CUT and a minimum of 90% in 12th is mandatory if you want to join LSR for Economics Hons. It is a tough gig and one has to master in CUET exams as cut-off for the same is 590+ out of 600. The admission process was bit longer as we were expected to give CUET (Central University Entrance Test). One is eligible to give this exam after 12th standard. Like wanted lady shri ram college for women and course B.COM(hons) so for this you must have studied accountancy or either maths in class 12. The cuet score must be well enough to get the seat.
