Course Curriculum Overview

5

i chose to study physiotherapy after being inspired by a family friend who is pursuing the same course. she enlightened me about how every doctor requires a physiotherapist and that doctors treat the patient while a physiotherapist heals the patient. our curriculum prepares us for real world experience from the third year when we start our postings, where we have to go and interact with the patient. personally i don't feel like there have to be any changes made in our teaching or curriculum pattern as i am more than satisfied with how things are.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

the college offers a year long internship, however i am not sure about placements and stipends. the interns work at the hospital of the college as well as the outpatient department of the college providing more exposure to the patient

Fees and Financial Aid

the college fees structure is on the higher side, with an increment of 3% each year, however, it matches the quality of education which is needed. for my first year in college i had paid around 255000, whereas for my second year i have paid 257000. there are other batchmates of mine from the management quota who have paid around 8 lakhs extra apart from the normal fee. though my course fee is expensive, i am however being provided with labs where i can practice anytime during working hours, faculties who ar present and can help me in clearing out my doubts, access to clean drinking water filter, access to healthy meals in the canteen as well as many other commodities. the college also arranges events such as a DJ night with meal to give the students a break from their hectic schedule and have fun. the college also organizes cultural events where the students participate in fun games and activities. overall, though a bit pricey, DPU,pune is a good college where a lot can be learnt.

Campus Life

5

for the physiotherapy college, there are cultural events, sparsh which is the annual day, there are competitions on important days such as bioethics day, environment day etc. the library has a vast range of books, currently housing around 10985 books all accesible with the library card. the classrooms have a whitenoard and a smartboard working in top condition. for extracurriculars we have NSS where we perform cleaning and planting campaigns. there is a dedicated sports week where students compete against each other. there is also a student council that organizes and supports each of these events

Hostel Facilities

5

the hostel room accommodates three people, there is a bathroom and a shower, there is a small kitchen area for storage area for snacks, water filters on the third and the sixth floor and a dedicated study area for students to study in a calm an peaceful environment.hot water is provided in the morning from 6 to 9 am and in the evening from 6 to 8pm. the meals are provided in the mess, meal quality is okay, however, cleanliness during preparing the meal is a concern from my side. the menu changes every week with options for jain people and fasting options on auspicious days. hostelis a bit more costly than a room/pg however the amenities provided make up for the cost. the hostel is situated within a walking distance from the college making it easy to get to college on days one is late

Admission

i chose dpu pune, as it was closest to my hometown. i had applied to other colleges however, they were a few hours away which would have made it difficult for me to travel back home when needed. especially because i have parents who are a bit older, they may require my assistance regarding certain things which is my responsibility as their child and which i cant let go, if i had chosen another college i wouldnt have been able to fulfill that responsibility of mine. the admission process for my college was to give an entrance exam which consisted of topics taught in 11th and 12th science, ranks were allotted according to the marks scored in the test and there were rounds of counselling followed by payment of the fees

Faculty

5

all of rhe faculties provide amazing guidance, they take time to explain every single detail while teaching and provide us with patient interaction tips as well. there are three exams that are held, first exams being mcq based, second, the preliminary exam and then third are the university exams, all of them having a moderate level of difficulty. almost every single batchmate of mine clear the examinations smoothly, hiwever, there are a few students who have failed to clear their exams, who recieve remedial classes apart from the regular lectures and get one on one guidance from the teacher who teaches them the subject they have failed in.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum followed is maharashtra university mandated for the bachelors of physiotherapy. The practical knowledge is good at the associated hospitals. During the Covid period the number of opd patients had reduced which led to a half at the practical learning but was compensated during the internship period.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because of my family. I had seen my grandfather go through this treatment earlier and made me curious to learn more about the same. The student ratio is around 45/50. Intake increase every year. The faculty is highly qualified and experienced. More focus is done on the clinical part. Recently research has opened a lot of doors for students. Various competitions are held on that basis. During our syllabus, we had termly exams. Which were comparatively difficult, since if an individual has not cleared the terminal as well as preliminary they are not eligible for the university exam. It can be because of marks or lack of attendance. So it is very important to be apt with both things.
