Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I would rate 5/10 for the course. I chosed this course to learn about accounts. Though it was hard for me to understand it first. This course actually needs to have practical more and more. Because in real world theoretical knowledge is much different than practical work. For me to say I don't know if I am correct or not but nowadays people only ask theoretical questions on accounts for interview only but in practical we do have to work out of theory. And for that we have to do other courses than b.com and m.com. The teaching methods should be more practical. The timing for exams are all okay. They are enough compare to the questions.

Placement Experience

2

We had very less placements in our college. I never heard that much every year for those. But in the final year of our course we are eligible for placements at campus. The companies I heard visited were datamatics, Bajaj finance, and ICICI bank. I don't know much about the packages but they were 250000/- per year. I think. I don't know percentage of the students who got placements. After getting degree I planned on pursuing masters in commerce and get a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees I paid for the course was 880/-. The tution fees as I remember were something 200/-. Internal fees and lab fees were 100/-. And don't remember much more about the other course fees. As I was in alsc category group I paid 880/- per year only for open category they had to pay more fees than this maybe 1500 or more than that per year. We have scholarships and freeships here. But never got any scholarship on time or sometimes not at all got any. Maybe it was 500 to 2000 if I remember

Campus Life

4

I had a good campus life and experience in this college. We had days in January every year with annual gatherings and competition. We had events like festivals and vidhyarthini manch for girls where they exhibited their talents. We had freshers party for BBA section. But not for b.com. the accessibility of books in the library was for academics books only. And not much any reference books. Journals were available from college only after admissions. There were no such technical facilities in our classrooms. I had only seen cricket and basketball till now at our college. We also had NCC and NSS. There's no student-run social group or culbs.

Admission

To be honest I chose this college because it was convenient to me to travel from my home to college. And it's best college for commerce in nashik as they say. I also applied to other colleges like cms and kthm but I got in first here in merit so I just took admission here only. The admission process is very simple. Just have to fill up the admission form from college attached necessary documents and marksheets and then check out with the faculty and then sign with the principal and then submit it to the cash counter. That's all. Any one can take admission into b.com course there's no eligibility just has to pass 12th in any field. My admission experience was somewhat hectic and somewhat time consuming but also was good.

Faculty

2.5

Our college faculty was average. And the members were quite good to say. I never approached them but economic and accounts Teachers were good. They were helpful. I neither liked or disliked any faculty. There were two exams each year. One was internal and second one was external. And for final year we used to have projects. The exams were much easier if one studies properly. But still there were lots of students who failed to pass and some failed in two three subjects with atkt. The course is okay. For basic knowledge about accounts and finances.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is recommended for the students who want to pursue a career in the finance field or if someone who is looking to a course like CFA, this bachelors degree becomes handy. This course teaches you about the financial spectrum of the whole world and gives you an intricate understanding about different financial instruments and their relevance in the society. It teaches one of the most sought after skills in today's world, that is financial literacy. Still I think some of the subjects introduced under the NEP are completely irrelevant such as EVS and IKS. We as college students need to give quality time on some professional subjects, not that these subjects are not important but they need to be emphasised in the early classes. There are three internal exams of 10 marks each and 20 minutes for each paper. The end sem exam is of 30 marks for minor subjects and 60 marks for major subjects. Also I feel that the difficulty level is okay.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.

Admission:

I entered college quite late like at the end of July. I got in on the basis of my 12th marks which were 85%. But if someone holds merit above 70% then you can easily get into MITWPU BCom program. You should apply for it beforehand and the merit lists will be declared around 2nd or 3rd week of June.
