I can't judge the curriculum only in one month ,we have two departmental course and three non departmental course, one is advance calculas, one is mechanics and last is physics of waves, . the physics of waves is the hardest I think

Class Size: 42Course Fees: INR 1500000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is very balanced between tution fees and hostel fees.for general and category there is fees scholarship on the basis of family income, and for sc,st there is no tution fees , there is merit cum scholarship that is accessible though ERP login ,for one semester fees is approx 1.5 lakhs

Admission

I applied in IIT KHARAGPUR as it is the tier one college of INDIA ,and that is enough for applying in it ,the IIT means alot to me,iam getting some other branches in other IIT but the oldest and largest and best environment is present in kgp only

Faculty

Some faculty members teaching us are not that much possible intrested in teaching and some are very excited while teaching ,so mix type of experience Some classes are goingg with other branches so teacher must react accordingly.

Likes

IIT Kharagpur doesn't discriminate among girls and boys. all the rules and regulations are same for both the gender.
Campus has a very beautiful night life you can roam inside the campus with your friends on a cycle and explore campus beauty
IIT Kharagpur has a very good infrastructure it has 2100 acre campus and provides facilities like a central library which operates 8am to 12pm.

Dislikes

poor connectivity form the city like if you want to catch a flight you have to go to kolkata that is around 110 km from campus.
Being the oldest iit some buildings are very old and need maintenance hostel rooms feels very old and boring.
some times people feels very loaded academics and i feel that pressure is quit higher here

Placement Experience:

For placement and internship we have CCD ( Career development center ) and it ensure that students are getting all the opportunities for interview with top companies like Microsoft, google, Goldman Sache amazon and so on. students can apply for internship in 5th semester and can sit for placement in their 8th semester, other than campus placement students can apply anywhere for off campus placement if they are meeting thier crieteria.

The fests are way engaging in the whole January month.
Activities in the hostels are highly interactive and make yourself get out of comfort zone

Mess food depends on the hostel you have alloted.

Placement Experience:

Placements in the campus are good. Most of the tech companies allow all the branches to sit for the tests. Eligibility criterial for many companies is around 7 CGPA. The average package is around 15 LPA. 90%of registered students get placed

Huge campus of 2100 acres with a lot of greenary
Good sports facilities for tennis badminton table tennis etc.
A lot of shops for buying books food etc.

Dislikes

Mess food is hit or miss some hostel hv very bad food
Campus so huge that cycling will make u tired .
Professor are great acc to wht I got but some say not all that gud

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose my course that chemistry because of the fact that I had got the rank that came under it and another reason is chemistry department is quite old here even if kanpur chemistry department is better for core, you will get chance for non core too here. Courses now deal more on chemistry related stuff. No need for course improvement Frequency is near end and mid sem there will be exams mode

The campus is complete in itself. Although it is in a small town Kharagpur, we have everything available inside the campus.
The campus is lush green with very positive energy.
Campus has all the facilities for all kind of activities. We have two big auditorium, a running track, a big swimming pool and may other things to pursue your habits

Dislikes

The girl to boy ratio is very very poor.
The campus is very competitive and demands your constant efforts. If you don't perform as per the requirement, you might get stressed.
The campus is in outskirts and we don't have immediate access to the city. Although we can go to kolkata but it is still far.

Placement Experience:

The placement is good in IIT KGP in comparison to other colleges. People are eligible to sit for placements in their fourth year can sit for placements through CDC. The placements are held in two phases. In session 24-25, we have seen 1000+ offers to students in first phase. After getting degree, I would also go for doing job.

Computer centre is always open 24/7 . You can go there and study on your desktop freely.

Dislikes

Some of professors are not good . Like i was in physics department and i really didn't like some professors because of there attitude and lack of sincerity.
Hostel management is not quite good. Lack of washing machine and improperly managed
Food in the mess. Mess food is not so special there. It is below normal

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum are different for different departments students. Like i was in physics department,, they give assignment, quizes and and midsem and endsem and the marks their varry depending on the course teacher decision. I selected physical science and i am quite satisfied with my course selection as the lab experience was very good. Teacher take 2 or 3 teaching assistant to help the students in the classroom, Teaching assistant are actually seniors and they help students in very friendly way.

EXPLORING THE LEGACY OF IIT KHARAGPUR

Actually, I apply for IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, and IIT Kharagpur but I am getting IIT Kharagpur because of the JEE advanced score. I chose this college even though I am getting admitted to some other IITs like IIT Kanpur, IIT Patna, and many more because this IIT average salary is higher than other IITs also the academic curriculum is better than other available colleges. I am only applying for IITs therefore I am not getting rejection from any colleges. If I talking about the admission process then you all basically apply here by your JEE advance score. The cutoffs of the exams vary every year according to how many students appeared in the exam and their performance in the exam. Usually, the cutoff for general category students is under 90-100 marks out of 360. The cutoff for OBC and EWS students is under 80-85 marks out of 360. The cutoff for SC/ST and PWD students is under 40-50 marks out of 360....Read More
