Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is a bit outdated in my opinion but it also does set a ground for real world applications. Some subjects are the same since a long time and there is a need to change a few of them. On the other hand the curriculum is checked constantly by the specific Department Dean of Academics and changed to keep validity. The timing of our exams is as such - 2 months after the semester start we have our first mids and 1.5 months later the second mids after a prep break of 1-2 weeks we have our finals and move on to the next semester.

Placement Experience

2.5

After the third year or 6th Semester you can take part in placements. There has been a lack of companies visiting this year. So far Infosys, accenture, cognizant, LSEG, Verisk have come for placements. The details are unknown to all the people but the highest package yet has been around 16-20 LPA. The Percentage of students getting placed is less compared to previous years around 20-30%

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees that I have paid is 1,30,000 since I have taken admission through EAMCET and got a seat but I still belong to general caste. The fee reimbursement varies according to your caste and rank in EAMCET.

Campus Life

3

There have been many technical and annual fests including Spectra Pragnya and other IEEE conducted tech events. The library is a huge collection of books and amazing variety of genres. The classroom is well equipped with projectors blackboards and other necessary equipment.

Admission

I applied for many colleges after I recieved my EAMCET rank - 8998. I got acccepted into IARE the first round and MGIT the second round. The third round i was accepted in GRIET and the main reason for choosing this college was the rank in state as well as the travelling distance is very less. The admission process is conducted in 2 ways - either an EAMCET admission or a B- cat JEE rank Management admission The EAMCET admission is pretty straight forward . The b - cat admission is done by assessing the JEE percentile or rank and a figure is quoted for the seat which can then be purchased buy the ones seeking admission

Faculty

3.5

The faculty to student ratio is about 1:24 since there is a mentor assigned for every 24 students in a class. The relation between the faculty and students is a good one and clear communication is present even with the parents. The course curriculum is relevant but a bit outdated in some scenarios. The faculty which I personally liked were Mr. Yesu - our first year Chemistry teacher and Mrs. Pavithra our DBMS teacher.

Placement here are going on pretty well considering the recession that hit the market in recent years, student become eligible for placements from the first sem of their final year , typically 7th semester for single degree students (BE) and 9th semester for dual degree students (Msc+BE),as per the recent cycle around 310+ companies including Google, MIcrosoft,Goldman sachs etc. had visited campus with offer majorly ranging from 18 to 27 lpa , the highest package last cycle (domestic) was for 65lpa and average aroun 21 lpa. The perecentage of students getting placed is above 80% and remaining usually go on for pursuing masters or already have a PPO from the Practice School Internship.I personally will be sitting for placements in my last year and will be hoping to land a good offer.

Internships starts from spring break of 4th sem and placements start from spring break of 6th sem ( if you don't get a PPO ) Many big companies like Microsoft , Oracle , DeShaw and Qualcom visit the college. More than 80% of student that are eligible for placements get placed while the others get off campus placements or opt for higher studies. My plans after getting th degree depends on the CTC of package I get offered. If it is not upto my expectation I will pursue higher education abroad.
