Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Curriculum is well followed as BMS is a VTU affliated college. 3 sets of exams in the form of CIEs are taken throughout the semester and 1 final round of exams at the end. There are 2 juries set which have an internal teacher as well as external teacher, to get fresh perspectives on projects. Real world appilcafion needs more work.

Fees and Financial Aid

Employment opportunities are not there. Placements/internships are not given by the college. They guide us to make the portfolio but actual firms do not approach the college for hiring interns. This needs to be changed.

Campus Life

3

Campus life is good with all clubs like literature, dance, drama and music. There are lot of opportunities for design competitions. There are events / festivals held with the engineering college near by. Sports is not taken very seriously but there is a football field and it shared with all the other departments in campus. There is NCC, Youth cross as well.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel needs to improve in terms of infrastructure. Already there are some new buildings and those are in very good condition but all the other builidngs are in poor condition. They keep it very clean and security guards are there. Access to wifi is there. Curfew by 9: 30. You have to register for hostel accommodations from the office only directly. In the room there in 2 beds, 2 desks, 2 cupboards. Either have 2 sharing or 4 sharing room.

Admission

Have your 10th, 12th and NATA scores to apply. I applied through the government portal. COMEDK. I got in after 3 rounds. There is a reservation as well but I do not fall in any category as I was applying from Kolkata to study in Bangalore. There are 2 sets of Nata exams whichever exam you score more on can be availed to use on reports further. Comed K is a time-consuming process. You have to be patient.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty members are extremely helpful and underdtanding with lots of site and hands on experience. They guide us very well. Some even have Phds in their respective fields. Learning is done in classrooms with the form of ppt or througu site visits for visual learning. For desijg subjects, they help us through everh step to get the best output.

Other Applied Colleges

Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture and Environmental Studies - [KRVIA] | Bachelor of Architecture [B.Arch] (Interior Design)

Placement Experience:

Architecture is completely a solo thinking work we can work in groups as well but if a structure is designed by a single architect then it has a taste of that particular person but if its a group then all will be mixed and have different kind of brains giving different ideas soo an individual can manage even if he doesnt get a placement

Course Curriculum Overview:

You'll indulge in a lot of painting and are related stuff. Well since Architecture is not only about art, there are subjects which will use up your brain cells. You also get to go to study trips too! The ride is not smooth- everyday would be a submission day , everyday would be a love-hate relationship with the course. Internal reviews, external reviews, viva and jury, presentation and assignments, written exams...theyre enough to keep you busy throughout. Since its Affiliated to vtu, the system does seem not so updated to date. You cannot expect to have a month of holidays after each Semester too. Dont dream of having a pleasant vacation break.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is more condensed that other colleges', so it makes it easier to tackle multiple things at once. The course prepares us for real world applications through their dual internship program, which is a strong point in their curriculum. If the course in itself had more real world applications, instead of very superficial ideas, it would be more helpful The exams are a hurdle, but it comes with the rigor of the course, and it is something students end up adapting to over the course of 5 years.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you check with other colleges the approach to the curriculum is different and more fun. The process of learning is more fun and appealing making us satisfied of what we have done at the end. Sometimes we don't get how the teachers are expecting us to do our assignments but we figure it out some how. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-sem and end-sem).
