A Great College and Research Institute

If you don't study, the administration will not give even a glance of mercy on you. There are many boundations, but if you study well, there wont be any problem dfor you. There is a rule of 85 percent compulsory attandance, which can be relaxed to 75, with the permission of your advisor/mentor. But not less than 75. Still it depends on professor to proffessor. Atleat in 1st year there is no relaxation. There is a rule, that if you get 3 backs in a year, you'll get a year back/year repeat. This rule is the most frustrating. Many many students fail in their 1st year. But after 1st year there are very less chances of getting a back.

Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agri and Tect. also known as Pantnagar University, is the best place to study after IIT Roorkee in uttarakhand. The Pantnagar Tag is a great tag, its known in india as well as other countries. I choose pantnagar University because of its Tag and also I got great feedback from aluminis of this University.

The course curriculum is rellay intense. It covers almost all aspects. If I perticularly talk about my course. I must say that the University makes us study all the courses in biotech and some more aditional courses. Since this university has a Fisheries college, Vetenary College, Home science College, Agriculture College, Technology college, Basic Sciences College. We are made to study some agriculture college subjects, a fisheries college subject, a vetenary college subject, a home science college subject.

The college doesn't provide internship. We have to find a internship on our own. But sometimes the faculties have contacts with some big organizations. So they can help you find an internship.

Since Biotechnology is more of a research feild. There are less job opportunities. But there are job opportunities with less pay. Some companies like TCS life Sciences, Omics, Sun Pharmaceuticals, etc have offered students jobs ranging from 18k/month to 28k/month. So getting a core job is not too tough, but pay is less. Also biotech students prefer higher studies more than job. In the 2018 passout batch, out of 24 students only 3 opted for job, one got into IIT-D,One in IIT-H, 2 in ICT Bombay, and some took a year drop to prepare for CAT, UPSC, GATE

There are 3 main fests: 1) Litrosphere- Its the literary fest of the University organized by Engg. and Tech Society college of technology. In this even debates, JAM , Hindi Debates, and Nukkad Natak takes place 2) Tech Fest- Colosseum- Many tech events take place like LAN Gaming, Robo Wars, Bridge Making, Robo Car Race, etc. Its a 3 day evet and three night are arranged. Which are - Comedy Night, Celebrity Night, abd DJ Night 3) Cultural Fest- Accolade- 3 Day fests with many many events like Singing, dancing, acting, face painting, wall painting, etc competition. And they organize 2 Nights- Celeb night, Dj Night Apart from these 3, many more events keep on going through the year.

Since biotech is a self funded course it's fee is 50k/year more as compared to fee of other branches of B Tech. Fee of Btech biotech is approx 80k per sem and 1.5 lakh per year including hostel and FOOD. Fee of other Btech branches is around 50k/sem and 1 lakh/ year.

Yes Scholarship of around 899 per month is given to top 3 students of a batch in all disciplines in the University. Alart from that Many banks Provide loan for the full degree program.

The campus life is great, its awesome. You can wander around in the lush green campus and take the view of 10,000 acres of Agricultural beauty. Speaking of Gender Ratio, number of Girls are more than boys Throughout the year many competition keeps on going in one College or the other. The are 7 Colleges in the campus.

There are 23 hostels in campus. Alloted according to the course which you persue. The facilities are not so good. Although this University won the cleanest govt. univeristy of india title, but some of the hostels have worse cleanliness conditions. The mess is given on contract to a private contractor. So the food quality and taste is just ok, it can be eaten to cool your hunger but, Its tasteless. Quality is also average. Mess provides Milk Packets, Juice Tetrapacks, Namkeen apart from cooked food. Once in a week icecream is also provided.(This varies from hostel to hostel)

Seniors are really really helpful. The seniors of Pantnagar are like the parents of the junior. All you need to do is to establish good relations with them. They help us in each and every thing, and get us out if we do anything wrong. Also they helo you in getting job, internship, writing reseaech papers, etc.

Total 3 exams are conducted in a semester. 2 MidSem and 1 Final. 50 marks are of internal examination and 50 are of external examination. Internal 50 marks are divided between 2 midsems and 1 one practical (in case of practical subject) and the final is totally external of 50 marks

I gave JEE-MAINS, and with that score I was able to appear for the 'UTTARAKHAND TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY' counseling. I visited the Uttarakhand Technical University Counseling website which is 'https://ukcounseling.nic.in/' which opens up registration a few week after JEE MAIN And CLASS 12 Results are declared. I registered for the counselling. It did two counselings and then the final Spot Counseling. In the spot counseling I visited the University and during the spot counseling I got B.Tech Biotechnology.

The Faculty here is are very good. And some faculties are really exceptional. Some faculties are more involved in the research work and couldn't teach very good, but they can help you loads when it comes to research. The research environment here is extremely good. The faculties really help you to get indulge in researches.
