Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As a first year student studying in Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences, Jalandhar I highly feel that the course I've chosen is one that gives me a post next to God himself and thus the study is not gonna be easy and curriculum will be vast for sure But here in PIMS, the exams or class tests are conducted regularly to make sure the students are performing good academically.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Here in Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences, Jalandhar after the completion of course you have to complete 1 year of necessary internship providing you with a stipend of around Rs 10,000. However the college does not promise you of any placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Here in Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences the fee structure is divided into two groups one of which is Government quota and the other is management quota in this the Government quota provides us with a less amount of fees and the management quota has a slightly higher amount of fees than government quota The complete fees of the course in government quota is nearly 25,00,000 and that of management quota is nearly 55,00,000.

Campus Life

5

I think that here in Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences Jalandhar it gives us an opportunities to have a very happy and good social life while focusing on our studies and the campus life and of course the mental and physical health too. PIMS, Jalandhar hosts a freshers party for every new batch and a fest of its own every year. Students can participate in these programs so as to socialize and showcase their talents. The library here in PIMS, Jalandhar is home to some of the best books. If talking about sports there is conducted a sports meet every year in which all batches complete with each other show casing their sportsmanship.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I have opted for hostel facility in PIMS, Jalandhar. it also has two steel almirahs. And of course to beat the scorching heat students are provided with air conditioners both split and window however there are also rooms available without ACs. Talking about the food in PIMS hostels it is quite good considering that it is hostel's food.

Admission

To get into Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences, Jalandhar you have to clear the entrance exam that is NEET. All of the information related to need is controlled by NMC and NTA. Anyone who has passed his 11th and 12th in the medical field having more than 50% of marks in boards is eligible to appear for NEET. The application form application fees and application dates are all shared on the NDA website. Talking about reservations, there are benefits of reservation in NEET. Here in Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences, Jalandhar every department consists of atleast 6 teachers, this number might be higher in some departments but not less than this. Due to this all students get paid attention to and are taken care of. All faculty members are quite eligible to be teaching in PIMS. Medical curriculum is now being managed by NMC who are trying new things which are kind of making it a bit weird and also the adaptability has been a little off. But overall its a good motive to stop rote learning

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college faculty is too good. The students and teachers I have witnessed in this college are very hardworking and helpful. The seniors and teachers are always there to take your doubts. The curriculum is updated and there's good clinical exposure. The only lacking factor is the availability of research opportunities. Our college provides facilities like ac laboratories, library, wifi, good lab and dissection halls for medical students. The infrastructure of our college is good and also the condition of the hostel is also better now. The course curriculum is changed with advanced technology and added alongside the syllabus. This course needs practical as well as theoretical knowledge which is provided well by our respected teachers. The course curriculum is vast and it requires attention. Our course is different than other courses as after studies we will get a chance of 1-year internship and then we are provided a license to practice on our own, also we can do PG.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose MBBS because it was my dream to be a doctor. A brief ratio on faculty:student is 1:8. Most of the faculty is qualified from Punjab medical colleges only. And their teaching methods are not upto mark. They just read out the power point presentations that their subordinates or they themselves make for the class. Very rarely a teacher explains the concepts on board. It’s a very passive sort of teaching. Exams have always taken place on term. And it’s of moderate difficulty. 80 percent of questions are from previous while 20 percentage are new questions.
