This year placements were not good and has been affecting many students

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Coming to curriculum syllabus coverage is good and the outcomes from the curriculum also good but sometimes it might not come as good as we expect Teaching methods are both black board as well as e learning

Class Size: 33Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Actually I went to an offline drive for internship because for our batch there are no much internship opportunities, Our juniors are getting good opportunities for internship there might be a good chance for upcoming batches

Placement Experience

1.5

After three-two we can sit for placements and highest package offered is 15 lakhs per annum this year and average is six lakhs per annum Percentage is less this year since companies revoked their job offerings this year

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee can be refunded if the required qualifications are met and the scholarship also have some criteria so the required qualifications are met them someone can get the scholarship and refund back

Campus Life

1.5

Social aspects is very poor club activites sports are very less Books and journals are available easily , there is an e library where online bokka are also available. They keep yearly three to four tournaments that too either cricket or badminton or football and chess

Hostel Facilities

Faculty were well qualified and their teaching was good, but some might won't take classes much seriously just want to complete the schedule in time Some are dedicated and passionate about teaching.

A review of NEHU, Shillong, from a 1st Year BTech Student

Likes

The environment is extremely beautiful (naturally)
Climate is the best i can think of; always cool, but never too cold)
Some teachers are very nice and genuinely interested to help you grow

Dislikes

Internships are extremely low; the few ones who come are not good
Placement rate is very bad, and average package is extremely bad too
Lot of corruption; missuse of funds everywhere, affecting the places where actual development is needed

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course might be one of the best courses in yhr University, if not the best. Placement rate, comparative to other courses, is the highest as of what I know. The curriculum dhould be improved. Lot of unnecessary subjects, that too with a lot of credits. The important subjects are just taught at the basic level, which should be way higher. The exam frequency and timings are good. But they are way too easy.

I like the place of my college very much because there is not any presence of summer all 12 months cool weather
The campus I love most because it is green so much and you can chill outside anytime

Placement Experience:

Yes placement's are there because it's a NIT From 3rd semester you are eligibile to apply for internship and from 7 sem you are also eligible for campus placements Many companies visit our campus for the placements some famous names of coma pansies are adobe amazon flipkart Mahindra infosys tata black rock etc and the no of offers made differ each year but the average of offers remains 150plus Highest package of our college is 51 LPA Which is bagged by a cs girl this year from Amazon and the average package also differ by the branches but for mechanics and cs branch a the average package is as good as 10LPA Percentage of students greeting placed is very good for the mechanical and cs branch like 95% placements are there and for others branches also 70% placements is there So placements is not a big issue in this college ???? I applied through the JEE MAINS counselling process for many NITs. I got a confirmed seat in NIT Meghalaya. I didn't get any rejection from any other college because I did my councelling through JEE MAINS only. The admission process of NIT Meghalaya is going through councelling. Once you get a seat locked in NIT Meghalaya, you have to pay the fee and start the study....Read More

360 degree review of my college

So as I tell this a government college particularly NIT so admission in this is done by giving a exam called JEE which is conducted by NTA twice in a year most commonly in January and April So after getting a good percentile in this JEE exam you are all ready for conselling done by JOSSA and CSAB Admission are done in these college according to your percentile and All India ranks The eligibility for this exam is you need to be 12 th pass with any recognised Baoard with 75% Cutoff for this exam you can find on inemternet as this a very popular exams given by 15Lac student every year and only 50thouasand student able to get seat So in counselling you have to fill colleges of tour choice and the counselling system allot you a college according to your performance in JEE exam I have fill some other nits like NIT GOA NIT JAIPUR NIT HAMIRPUR NIT NAGPUR but these are the college I didn't get because of my rank in jee exam All went that wrong is my preparation for the exam ???? A Totally Honest Review for those hoping to get enrolled in NIT Meghalaya

I didn't apply to any other college as I was solely focused in the present college. The admission process is quite long and rigorous with the main eligibility is passing the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) with required percentile and then enrollment in JOSAA/CSAB for getting enrolled in the college and later doing the needful for the admission in the college. Admission process is quite smooth if you already get enrolled....Read More

Shwetabh Sinha's Review On National Institute of Technology - [NIT] Meghalaya, Shillong

NIT Meghalaya is a decent institute as par as studies are concerned. You will have ample of chance to study and learn new stuffs, being a new institute you get a lot of stuffs and initiatives to be done and handled single handy which gives another chance not only to learn and showcase your skills but also to use it in future for organizing similar stuffs in future.Being a MeghNITe , it was always a cutting edge for me in interviews and people used to literally appreciate the exposure I had even from being a remote located college of India ( though it was not pretty different to what a normal NITian would had in other NIT).If you do same thing in limited resources to what your competitor does with ample of resources, even having same outcome its more likely to get appreciated and this is what happens when you are studying at new NIT.Coming to infrastructure : NIT M has decent labs ( comparable to even many of old IITs ) ,mix of youth ,energetic and quite experienced pool of faculties , prime location and technically sound students as college.I would suggest to go ahead with decision and consider it a fair Chance to study at NITM (Provided you do not have any better option)....Read More
