Course Curriculum Overview
MBBS is a hands on course with a lot of stress, you really need to be at your toes at all times. KMC provides a good college experience as it gives you an effective work- life balance. You are going to be the future health care workers, that is relevant and helpful to the whole world.
Internships Opportunities
KMC is a medical college, you dont get internships in the first year, after 4.5 years you can get into a good paid internship which provides a lot of oppurtunities but after that you opt for NEET PG or any other program.
Fees and Financial Aid
To join this college, one has to crack the NEET examination. The MCC counselling is conducted. KMC mangalore is a government college for Karnataka residents. If a general candidate scores more than 530, he can get it in, the fee is 70 L for 5.5 years with one year of paid internship. For government seat, the fee is 5 L for 5.5 years. There are no financial assistances provided by KMC mangalore but the top 10 students do get a scholarship who have applied here
Campus Life
There are a variety of clubs which you can join- Orthopedics, Radiology, emergency medicine, MUN, Media and a lot more. There is a sports complex where teams practise and you can go and play. For fests, one has to travel to other colleges.
Hostel Facilities
The BEJAI GIRLS HOSTEL is the best hostel you can get. The ZOLO association with our college has been of great benefit, it is good to walk into clean rooms. The hostel fees is 1 L for a year and mess food like other colleges is satisfactory.
Admission
The admission process is lengthy and a little burdening. I scored 572 in the NEET examination. You really have to work hard to get in and get a good score because of the new reservations that are applied.
Faculty
The Head of the departments are learned and have been in this profession for more than 20 years. The professors have done a PHD or are MD graduates. There are associate professors along with tutors to help us out. They also have senior residents to help us cope with the practicals.
