Likes
- Firstly, I like the campus of NIT Durgapur which covers over 187 of land. The location of the campus is quite good, main market and city centre of Durgapur is at walking distance and one can easily visit market anytime he/she wish.
- There are very less restrictions in our campus, one will really enjoy his/her time here.
- Professors are well qualified and are very helpful.
Dislikes
- Hostel are not very good in terms of basic facilities like washroom and clean rooms.
- Hostel Mess are average. You will not be satisfied with the food.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Course curriculum is very good. Our college also teaches basic subjects like economics and accountancy to B.Tech students. Coming to core subjects for the respective department, the syllabus is very valuable.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities for circuital branches are good and fine. But scenes of internship for core branches are good. Roughly 10% of students get internships in 3rd year. Core branch students get the opportunity for vocational training.
Placement Experience
College Placement is good. Computer Science department have average package of 15 lakhs and it is somewhat same for ECE and EE department. Our College also provide good placement for Core branches and package is around 10 lakhs per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees structure is affordable as there is also fee waiver option for the students with less family annual income. Hostel fees are also not much high. If a student has family annual income less than 100000,he have to pay around 35000 per semester including hostel and Mess.
Campus Life
My College experience is good. There are 2 fests in our college, one technical fest - Aarohan and one cultural fest - Recstacy. There are also events like sports day and food fest in our college and many more events are held by clubs and societies.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are very poor. You will get a three sharing room and no AC or cooler. Washroom are mostly damaged and no renovation takes place till the complete wreckage. Hostel Mess are not clean.
Admission
One has to take the JEE Main examination to get admission to this college. The cut-off varies from branch to branch like Cut off for the Computer Science department is around AIR 10000 and for the biotechnology cut-off is around AIR 60000.
Faculty
Professors are well qualified and holds very good educational background. Quality of education is very good in terms of content. They make you ready for research and placement both. There notes are helpful in clearing examinations like GATE.
