Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

In each semester we are assigned with multiple projects along with the course and the theory which we are studying from the course are rightously used in the practical applications while we are doing our project work. Our exam system is divided into 3 set of exam in each semester namely CAT 1, CAT2 and FAT. (CAT stands Consolidated assessment test and FAT stands for Final assessment test) . As the name suggests both CAT exam (CAT 1 and CAT2 ) is of 50 marks and the weightage is of 15%. Our internal assessment marks which is our project work is of 30 marks and the final exam (FAT) is of 40 marks. The time period between each of the exams is approximately about 1 months which varies sometimes . Difficulty level for CAT 2 is tough as it is an open book examination , CAT 1 and FAT is quite easy to moderate in some cases.

Vit provides research internship to 2nd-3rd year undergrads which basically upgrades the skillset of an individual. Few internships gives stipend for which one need to be highly skillfull to get into it . Else on can do internship to gain experience which is the most important thing, I believe .Projects undertaken includes machine learning , deep learning, block chain , artificial intelligence , and many more .

Campus Life

Campus Life is quite good. We are having two fests in a year namely, TechnoVit - the techfest and Vibrance - the cultural fest of Vit Chennai. In TechnoVit, held on November, each technical clubs organizes their technical events like hackathon, ideathon, ideally every technical event you can think of. Usually in mid March, we have the cultural fest VIBRANCE where we are having famous cricketers like Shivam Mavi, Dinesh Kartik and singers like Sonu Nigam, Shreya Goshal, Shirley Shetia visiting our college followed by DJ nights and many more . Both of these fests are about 3-4 days. Our library is a four story building. Every genre of books including Law books can be accessed. Moreover it is also a smart library. Every Individual can access the books online through the egateway library of vit chennai using college email. Whiteboard in classrooms, great lab facilities. Regular sports events are held for football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, and swimming.Around 150-160 student clubs .

Admission

I gave VITEEE exam to enter VIT. Basically it is an entrance examination to get into any of the four campuses of vit , namely vellore, chennai , Bhopal and Andhra Pradesh. The difficulty level of the exam is less than JEE mains . My rank was 32000 in the exam so I get into vit chennai at category 2. To get into Vellore (main campus) one should get a rank below 15000 for ECE and below 10000 for CSE and it's specalizations. There are no reservations as it is a private college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed and covered both fundamental and advanced concepts. We choose elective papers each sem one paper from third sem. That selection of elective papers made us to do case study of real world exposure and competency. The curriculum prepared us for the reasonable real world applications. Also workshops and internships bridged the gap between industry expectations and academics. The teaching methods are really supportive and knowledgeable. On the whole the curriculum was strong and but needs to be imapctful.
