Remarks

Good place. It's a little hot here, though. But in all honesty, it's one of the best places to study law, in the country. It's a balance of rigorous of academics and an extremely liberal cultural environment.

Entrance Preview

NLUJ takes in students through the Common Law Admission Test, CLAT. The entire process is merit-based.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is extremely rigorous. It includes six subjects, with four rounds of continuous assessments for each, a mid semester assement, and then an end term assessment. The course focuses largely on theoretical learning of the law. Indeed, there's a special emphasis on practical learning too, through court room exercises, presentations, research based assignments etc.

Internships Opportunities

The college has a recruitment and internship coordination committee (RICC), which is a student composed body. This committee looks after internship and recruitment affairs of the college, conducts placement rounds, recommends students for internships to firms etc.

Placement Experience

5

NLUJ has one of the best corporate placement record throughout all law schools in the country. The day zero placement held in April 2018,wherein 40 students sat for placement, 30 students were offered PPOs by reputed firms based in India. A number of students in their 3rd year too receive PPOs, every year. A corporate placement would offer an average 14 lac rupees of package, to an NLUJ graduate.

College Events

4.5

The college has the best sports fest throughout all law schools in the country, the Yuvardha, which is organized once in 2 years. Yuvardha enjoys participation from all major law schools of the country and is a rich experience for all those who are a part of it. The college also organizes its cultural fest, once in 2 years, named NH 65. It's awesome. Really. The Debating Society of the college organised a youth parliament and a parliamentary debate every year which see participation from countless major schools and colleges across the country. Besides all that, the college conducts major conferences on arbitration, corporate law, trade law etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible. The college charges you 2.2 lac rupees a year, which includes everything except your food. The food, you have to buy yourself. One has to pay an amount of Rs. 1.4 lacs before the beginning of an academic session, and then an amount of 80,000 before the next semester

Fees and Financial Aid

The NLUJ Scholarship is for those who are both economically disadvantage and academically excellent. Loan facility is available too. Otherwise, the college is associated with IDIA, which assists economically and socially disadvantages students to study for clat, and in their law school fees as well.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is really peaceful. The campus is really green, and a walk every night could help you feel light. Has a good gender ratio too. Since NLUJ does not have any domicile reservation scheme, it is really diverse with people from all across the country coming here. Students based politics is absent here. The campus and the entire student community is extremely liberal and tolerant. No moral policing, every one would smile at you and mind their own business. The party scenes are great too.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel is damn nice. You don't get single occupancy rooms in any other NLU, right from your first year. But of course, that comes at a price - shared washrooms for every floor. The hostel fees is included in the entire college fees one pays. There's no shortage of rooms. The hostel rooms have a cot, a table, a chair, an almirah, and a LAN cable.

Alumni/Alumna

NLUJ has a really strong alumni base, with countless of its alumni working at high posts in several law firms, or legal institutions across the world. One can contact their seniors in case they need any assistance with regards to something that they would know about.

Admission

I wrote CLAT and got a sufficient rank to get admission here. I went through four rounds of of the counseling process, wherein in the fourth round I was alloted NLUJ. Thereafter I visited the college to finalize my admission, submitted all the necessary documents and other formalities.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is quite good too. All faculty members have an average of 5 years of teaching experience. Ofcourse, you find some bad faculty here too, just like everywhere else. But overall, the college is known for its competent staff. The dean of the faculty of law, Dr I.P Massey, is a knowned author on treatises on administrative law.

Overall the college is good to pursue Law in the city but it is not the best college. If you are serious about doing law and making a career in this field. Than this college should not be on your 1st preference list. Though you can keep it as a back-up college.
