If you want to get admission in jalpaiguri government engineering college then you first give wbjee exam which was conducted only in West Bengal and in this college only West Bengal domicile students get admission other state students does not get admission

You cannot chose your department it depends upon the rank you get if you get good rank then you will get computer science engineering department if your rank is poor then you get civil engineering department course curriculum is not so hard and the faculty students ratio is 10:63

The fees of the government engineering college is always low but in this college fees is very low your per semester fees is 3000 in (CE,EE,ME) and 6000 in (CSE,ECE) and 12000 for IT Department and you all eligible for SVMCM scholarship which is given by West Bengal government which 60000 per annum which is huge

Annual fest is JECLET and tech fest is SRISTI and annual fest is conducted on March and tech fest is conducted on August and here you also get library card and you can borrow upto 4 books at one time for whole semester don't worry about it and here also so many sports clubs and extracurricular activities are also happen

Hostel facility is good this is government hostel that's why hostel fees is very low you only pay for your meals only and in hostel you will get 24/7 wifi and 24/7 electricity and water supply and also you get bed table chair and the process registration of hostel is happening on the time of admission and also meals quality is also quite good
