Supportive staff members and professors.
College fests and all the festival celebrations.
It is a budget friendly college and good for ca cma students.

Dislikes

The reservation of SC ST and OBC as worthy students don't get admission and cut off goes high
The campus area is very small and there is no canteen
The locality is not good and has cheap crowd

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this college because it is the best college in West Bengal and it is quite prestigious to get admission into it. The teaching-faculty ratio is 1:90. The Teaching methods of certain specific professors are commendable and encouraging but a few teachers are required to be changed.

Class Size: 250Course Fees: INR 2000 per year

Placement Experience

Final-year students can avail of campus placement. Companies like Deloitte and Tata offer jobs. The highest package goes upto 500000 per annum and the average package is 200000 per annum. The percentage of students getting placements is 35%. I am pursuing Chartered Accountancy as well so that is my plan after getting the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very minimal it is approximately 2000 rupees per year and the fee hike might go upto 2500 per year. They provide you with tons of scholarship options like the swami Vivekananda scholarship but that is only for the reserved sections SC, ST, OBC, etc. General people like me get nothing. College doesn't provide you with internship opportunities.

Campus Life

Campus life is pretty fun, we celebrate lots of festivals such as Holi, and Saraswathi puja. They also conduct freshers' parties, farewell parties, and the college fest- Quest in the month of December. Another fest in January and an annual sports meet in February. There are no societies Or groups but we do have an electoral club.

Hostel Facilities

There is no hostel facility. I live in a pg in lee road, bhawanipur locality of Kolkata. The cost of accommodation is pretty expensive I have to pay nearly 160000 per annum. We do get a fridge and a washing machine and the good quality is okay. We get three meals a day.

Hostel Fee: INR 156000 per year

Admission

Eligibility was 75% or above in 12th boards but the cut-off was 93% for the general category. I would suggest that the allocation of seats should be based on one's. All the details regarding administration are available on the official website of the college.

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

SAJC - From The Eye of a Student.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.

The curriculum is average , I chose this course because I wanted to do an honours degree and I'm from commerce background so my first pick was B.Com . They really put efforts to prepare students for well future , as I said earlier some teachers are genuinely very good helpful supporting and good at what they do . Something they need to approve is the 70% attendance criteria, I think they need to understand not every student is just persuing graduation they are doing some other courses or jobs etc so they can't maintain 70% attendance . Placement Experience:

In our college generally students get placement before the last semester exam. Lot of companies visits our college and give many placement offer opportunities to the students. The highest package was 6 - 7 LPA and on average it generally ranging from 2 to 3 LPA. About 60 to 70 percent students gets a different types of offer from different companies who visited our college, my plan is also to get a good and a decent package from our College

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after the 5th semester. A few companies like TCS visit our college every year. The average package offered is around 100000 PA I want to go for higher studies after the degree but I want some real life work experience too.

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka.
