Best College Nurture Best People

Likes

The college had a a working cheap book store where the students could buy books related to their syllabus.
The canteen was clean and served affordable meal to the students.
the college was in the center of south kolkata,which made it easier for students to reach it.There are many transportation option.

Dislikes

As the college had a student union affiliated to a political party rallies were sometimes arraged and the students were made to particiapate in it.
There are only a few course option to study in the college.
The rules were not so strict about students leaving the college premises.

Students view on course curriculum

The course I chose was B.Com Honours( Marketing). The Marketing aspect of business is the most intriguing part according to me as it has the power to make or break the goodwill of a business. Though coincidental at first but as soon as I got the news I had the option for this course in Haramba Chandra College,I opted for it. The final exams were conducted at the end of each year which has now changed to each semester.The exams were moderately difficult.

Companies recruiting from the campus and average package being offered

The system whuch was prevailant during by time was yearly system. The students became eligible for campus placement after the semi-anuall exam in the Third Year of the course. the companies which visit the college for campus placemrnt were Tata Consultancy Services,Wipro,Tech-Mahindra,etc The highest package offered by these companies are 4LPA and average salaries range withing the scope of 1.5LPA–2LPA. The percentage of students getting placed in the company depended solely on the interview and the final score of the student after the completion of the course. I took my first job in Tata Consultancy Services in the year 2018 from the college campus placement.

What is the total fees of the course?

The Fees structure when I enrolled into the college was different from now. The college didn't have semester system but the course was split into three year and the fees was divided accordingly. The Total fees was ?4,785 yearly which included Tuition fee,caution fee and other miscelleneous fees The admission fee was only taken once before enrollment into the course and registration fee was taken before the exam.

Various events organized in the campus

There were couple of festivals that were held in our college.They were :- 1.Annual Sports Meet 2.Annual College Festival 3.Freshers Party 4.Farewell Party. The timings of these festivals and parties depended on the timing of the exams,if an exam is around the corner then the festivals are post-poned to a more suitable day.

Students view on faculties and examination

The faculty to student ratio was 4:175. The faculty members though were less but made sure to take care of every student.They advised students on further academic options and study materials. All the faculty member were supportive and good.According to my knowledge there were no bad professors in the college. There were total 3 Final exams(1 in each year) under the university guidelines were the college was affiliated preceeded by 1 semi-annual exam in each year in the college. The exams were moderately difficult though only a few students failed to achieve the passing marks. There was option of supplementary examinations for students not getting passing marks in a subject/subjects.

How to get admission in the college and what sets the college stand out ?

I applied for total 5 colleges for B.Com(Honours) they were :- 1.Asutosh College 2.Dinobandhu Andrews College 3. Surendranath College 4.Heramba Chandra College 5.Prafulla Chandra College. I got confirmed admission in all the above colleges.I chose Heramba Chandra College because it had a name to be the best college to study B.Com honours in South Kolkata and it was near my home which made it easier to reach. There were no special examination to enroll in the college every year these colleges opened an online portal to apply for admission.The total score and the score in Accountancy,Maths and Commerce were tallied with their asked score to enroll the eligible students.

I Applied In Many Colleges In The Admission Round Of Wbcap.In Which Was Introduced By The Govt. Of West Bengal For The Very 1St Ime In 2024 And I Got Chance In Many Colleges Which Includes : 1) City College Of Commerce And Business Administration . Kolkata 2)Acahrya Jagdish Chandra Bose College . Kolkata 3)Kalyani Mahavidyalay , Kalyani 4)Seth Anadram Jaipuria College , Kolkata In All This Colleges I Got Confirmed Admission In Seth Anandram Jaipuria College But In My Preference Heramba Chandra College Was The Best Accordin To Me . I Also Applied For Goenka College Of Commerce , Kolkata From Where I Got Rejection . As The Cutoff For General Category Was A Bit Higher . To Get Admission In Heramba Chandra College There Is No Specific Entrance Exam And Students Can Apply By Showing Their Higher Secondary Board Results . Cut-Off Are Generally Higher 90%-80% . It Is A Good Experience In His College Still Now As I Got Many Good Results Till Now .

Admission:

Our college is one of the best colleges here, that's why I got admitted here. To get admitted here, you need at least 75% marks or even 70%, but then you will get a chance in the 2nd list if you take honors in any subject. My experience of getting admitted here is very good. There is no ragging here. This makes our college the best.

One thing I can say that you one can mind your own business no one is going to disturb you.
According to me the college doesn't need any improvements till now, I don't know much about these thing.

Dislikes

If you are looking for a campus where you can chill out sit with your friends then this might not be your first choice....
I don't think the college canteen is big enough for the number of students that the college has

I have applied for most of the famous colleges for bcom in kolkata and I got chance in every one of them but I joined heramba chandra cause it is also a very reputed college of bcom and all my friends got chance in this college. The registration process is very simple you have to apply for it online and then if you pay the fees after you got selected you can go for document verification to the college on the given date

The main reason is it's reputation among people it's a old college and it has a huge reputation among everyone. so whenever someone chooses Commerce they take HCC because of its Lineage , it also has a friendly ambience compared to other colleges

The pros and cons of Herambachandra College

Likes

The college is very close to my house making it very convenient for me
The students union of the college is much helpful
The overall ambiance is elegant, no ragging is promoted, students ar given full freedom

Dislikes

The college doesn't provides the importance announcements properly

Admission:

The Heramba Chandra College is one of the best government colleges in Kolkata for Bcom. The overall faculty and environment is much better than other government colleges in Kolkata. But still my first priority was Goenka College in Commerce but still HCC is not a bad choice

I chose this college because it's well reputed in here as one of the best commerce colleges. Also my family members gratuated from this college leaving a very positive review. And the other colleges I opted for were as a option if I don't get this college then I would've opted for. It's also nearby my house making it easy for me to travel up and down.
