Sikkim Manipal Institute Of Medical Sciences (SMIMS): My Dream Medical College

NEET 2020 UG was the eligibility criteria for MBBS. I opted for this college through Sikkim state counseling, Application fees was 1500 on the day of college counseling. college conducts its own internal councelling. I got through state quota so 75% of total course fees is paid by the Government of Sikkim. Admission process is transparent.

MBBS was always my dream course. SMIMS has the highest faculty: student ratio as much as I have read about. All the faculties have specialization in their field, Mostly MD, DM, Ph.D., and also MBBS. We usually have 2 sessional exams, 1 pre-University and 1 University exam in a year, and many small formative assessments and tests throughout the year. It is quite easy to pass those exams if one is really dedicated to studies.

I forgot to mention about a month long Sports fest named HUSTLE organized sports committee where one get to play and win the medals for their batch and finally the winning batch will get a championships tophy ( Same as in movie Chichhore)..There are plenty of clubs you can join apart from studies. We usually have 1 year of internship a After the end of 4th year where we shall get handful experiences and knowledge as require to be an Indian Medical Graduate.

Fees policy include, General quota:17 L per annum Management quota: 32L per annum Sikkim quota has 2 kind of seats: 1) State top 50: 7L per annum ( now free) 2) Rest 30: 17L per annum Recently from 2021 100 MBBS seats have been increased to 150 out of which, 1) 80 seats for Sikkim Students (50 free+ and 30 paid seats), 2) 50 seats for (general+management+army students quota), We will also get a stipend during an internship for 1 year (12k per month as of now).

Aura is the annual fest that occurs every year, it is a 4-5 days long fest comprising mainly of cultural, entertainment, talent shows, etc, usually occurring in the month of September. The fest consists of Dj nights, battles of bands and games, food stalls, and everything. We have a huge central Library with AC vents and comfortable chairs, with a peaceful environment. It has a lot of books, you just name a medical book, and you will find it there. We have 4 big Lecture halls, with a seating capacity of approx 200 students at once. AC, fans, proper lighting, beautiful view of mountains from the windows, projector, Speakers, microphone everything is equipped, So u won't get bored while attending the lecture. We don't have big sports grounds but we have enough area for sports, We have Indoor Sports Arena, with badminton courts, table tennis boards, carrom, chess, etc. We also have 2 gyms with all the modern equipment separately for boys and girls. We have 1 Futsal ground, 1 volleyball ground, and 1basketball ground.
