College is good..descipline maintainable..its totally looking like a school but overall facilities is quite satisfactory

Course Curriculum Overview

Course structure is good..but need to be much better also apart from studies there are also many faculty available where we can go and can tell them about my ideas and teacher helped them a lot. Faculty is undoubtedly very good and helpful this is quite good and inspiring.

Internships Opportunities

Yes college provides oppt for an internship lyk they provide the internship from tcs in latest, tcs took an online exam on their center and they will select 250 students out of 350 students results is not yet been declared.

Placement is quite good almost 100% students get their jobs, teacher are also very helpful.

Gender inequality is the norm in Iem.Girls are regularly and constantly discriminated against in all aspects of college life from hostel curfews to excursions outside campus and on and on it goes. Girls have an extremely restrictive and policed environment which does not teach them any independence at all. It only makes them more and more dependent on the system for each and every need that they have.

Hostel facilities is little bit good not so bad but needs to be good fooding must be better.

Yes.our 2014 batch senior students starts a startup name distronix...turnover is good now a days...proud of them.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is having two mid sem one sem and lab exam in 6 months. semester fees is affordable, we can get a good knowledge in little bit of money.

Based on my rank i got the admission in IT dept..first we register the name in wbut and after verifying and counselling i got this college.first of all i choose my branch and college and during first slot second slot availability i got my seats in information technology in institute of engineering and managent kolkata..It is a very good descipline maintainable ragging free college

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. The names of comanies visited are TCS, Infosys, Capegimini,Tech mahindra etc. Some students Got 2 offer laters . Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Well other than that I definitely put Techno Main , Heritage Institute of Technology, Jalpaiguri Government, kalyani Government and Haldia Institute of Technology too . But the rank didn't allow me to get my desired branch that is CSE in kalyani and jalpaiguri, so I had to close from the private ones and if you have to pick the best one in Kolkata which was also not far waya from my hometown , definitely you choose IEM , as it definately has a good placement track record and good curriculum. Well you can get into this college through WBJEE(which they didn't took this year ) , IEMJEE and direct admission too . But direct admission requires some extra donation amounts too . So I take admission through WBJEE in IEM KOLKATA in B.tech in electrical engineering. So now I talked about eligibility criteria:- You should pass your +2 from any board with a maximum of 60% Admission in this college is 3 types WBJEE, JEE MAIN, IEMJEE all three forms you will get notified by college dunia if you have an account in it. So the IEM KOLKATA is one of the best private colleges in Kolkata and you can say in India also so the cuttoff goes very high you have to get minimum rank for this college.
