Remarks

I applied for Stephen's via an online application followed by a subject test and finally an interview which was the most important component of the admission process. Students who score a high percentage on boards will get the interview call letter, once they clear a certain cut-off.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The faculty is great and experienced. They will help you find internships and projects to work on. Chemistry as a subject excited me and hence I decided to embark on this journey with Chemistry at Stephen's. The term exams are as scheduled by DU and they are on a moderate level.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The Campus Placement Cell (aka CPC) of Stephen's is a student-run body, and it is very active. It will mail students about internships (both summer and virtual) throughout the year. Many students can get internships and some of the internships will be high paying and can be extended into a placement offer depending on their performance.

Placement Experience

5

Placements were always good at Stephen's and they have touched new heights since the pandemic and online work from home culture came in. Nearly 80% students of students who sit for placements get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no fee hike as such yearly. The college does provide lots of scholarships and bursaries for students based on merit and need. Apart from that if you are joining Stephen's like a science student and have good grades in +2 then you might get the INSPIRE scholarship as well (that is Rs. 60k/year)

Campus Life

5

The social life at Stephen's is great as it has nearly 50+ societies, which are active all time. There are days when you will be having 10+ activities and talks on the same day and you will be confused as to what to leave. So days are packed at times.

Interview Experience

5

Interview was there and it was about the academic info of the subject. The interview is the main criteria for admission into Stephen's and one should prepare well for it. My experience was smooth and great.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for placements after second year or even third year. Companies like Google, Deloitte, KPMG, HDFC Bank, Maruti Suzuki, McKinsey, etc visited our college for placements and recieved over 200 placement offers in the latest year 2025. Highest package of Hindu College is 36.5 LPA and the average package is 11.4 LPA. Hindu College has a high placement rate of 95% of eligible students securing a placement here. My plan is to prepare for UPSC or SSC-CGL after my degree.

Placement Experience:

Placements in IGNOU are quite limited compared to regular universities. Since IGNOU is an open and distance learning university, it does not have a strong campus placement system like DU or private colleges. There is a Campus Placement Cell (CPC) that conducts job fairs and recruitment drives at some regional centers, but these are not very frequent and mostly depend on the location. Usually, students who are in their final year or have completed the course can apply, but there is no fixed semester rule since the system is flexible. The companies that visit are not very large in number and vary every year. Some private firms, NGOs, BPOs, insurance companies, and small IT firms have participated in the past. The roles are generally entry-level such as sales, customer support, data entry, insurance advisor, or junior IT support. There are very limited opportunities for core mathematics or research roles through placements. As far as packages are concerned, the average package is usually around ?2.5 LPA to ?4 LPA, but since IGNOU is an open university, it cannot be expected to have the same placement levels as regular colleges with full-time classes. Also, the percentage of students placed is very small because most IGNOU students are either working professionals, homemakers, or people preparing for competitive exams, so placements are not the main focus. Many students use the degree as a qualification while pursuing their own career path outside. I am currently in my 2nd year, so I do not have personal placement experience yet. The data I have mentioned here is based on internet sources and feedback from other IGNOU students. From what I have learned, placements exist but are very limited, and one should not rely only on them for career building.

After fifth semester students are eligible for campus placements. Over 280 offers were made in last placement session by such great companies like Bain and company, Deloitte and United airlines. Highest package was 2300000 and average was 700000. There is no specific percentage but very high as over 215 students got placement in session 2021-22. My plans after graduation is pursuing post graduation with some extra coaching for my civil services preparation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Individual responses to the course and curriculum may vary. My experience with overall course was good. However, i feel difficulties in understanding physics, chemistry, and biochemistry. People from non-science background also joins our course that's why i feel that college and faculty should focus on these subject and should increase the number of lectures and practicals for these science-basef subjects. Other subject like textile sciences and communication are good with syllabus. Thess subject has helped me gain knowledge about real India, the cultural values of India, and how India is changing.

I chose this course to gain knowledge on how to be a better sportsperson and how to teach other individuals about health. The faculty of the college is not responding much in these COVID times but is doing sustainable work. Their teaching methods are simple, not much complex so that we students can understand everything. The exams were on time and were easy.
