Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Geography is a good choice for UPSC CSE as an optional. On an average total students enrollment in this course combining every years student is about 100. And faculty number is 6. So faculty:Student ratio is 1:17. Faculties are having a good combination of senior and junior staffs. Most of the faculties are belongs from rural background and having a good merit. Most of the faculties did their UG & PG, Ph.D from state university and some are still doing their Ph.D and Reasearch work.Their teaching medium is bengali but provide most of the study materials in english. Half of the faculties are having friendly relationships with us.1/3rd faculties are takeing class regularly while rest are not regular. They are providing assignment and h.w on semester wise. Timely exam is completely depend on University. And the difficulty level of exam is very low and completely bases on academics and traditional instead of dynamic and competitive basis.

Placement Experience

0.5

There is very little campus placement offer by private organisation especially for science stream students. Local foundation like Anudeep foundation etc are visited.Package is also very low start feom 10k to 30k maximum.Very little less than 1% students get after completing their graduation.I want to pursue my higher studies from Central university along with UPSC CSE preparation.

Fees and Financial Aid

As it is a completely government funded college so fees is very less comparing to others institution.Apart from admission fees in 1st year total cost of per semester in college purpose is less than 1000 rupees. And there is hostel facility available for the students who cant afford daily travell. In terms of academics expenditure one can complete his/her one semester in 4000 rupees including books, study materials, practical instruments etc. There is one scholership available for each year toppers from every department provide by rhe college fund. Apart from this government scholership like SVMCM, K-2, SC,OBC,Minority scholership is also available by the government with prior verification by the college authorities. But there is nit such kind of job placement is exist forngeography departmwnt students.

Campus Life

2.5

There is only obe cultural fest that is annual cultural feat is organise by the college.Apart from this ''basanta utsav'' regarding holi also organise there. But not any kind of tech fest is organise there. There is lot of journal regarding academics study is available but not for competitive study.Classroom amenities is below average excluding the practical room which is good. There is NCC in our college and cricket and volleyball is favourite sports among students. But apart from this there is no other extra curricular activity organise except some departmental seminar. There is not such kind of social groups and website exist run by rhe students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I used to read so many novels from my childhood and that inspired me in getting attracted to this field. We used to have the fecility of having seminar in the end of every month after compleating of each lessons. And this process helped us in true education. After every year professors from differnt parts of the country used to come for a seminer for overall groth of the students. Actually is theory teaching style is followed in the college, according to me some developments in the practical teaching can be used. Semister is held at the end of every six months and the exams are used to be moderate in nature.
