Jalagam Nikitha's Review On Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute Of Engineering And Technology - [GRIET], Hyderabad

I took IIT JEE, BITSAT and EAMCET(Telangana) entrance exams out of which I got better rank in EAMCET. I got a rank of 6495 in EAMCET. Through this I opted for Gokaraju Ranga raju Institute of Engineering and Technology (GRIET).

The course structure in the college is pretty good. It follows a semester wise plan. There are two semesters in each year so eight semesters in total. Each semester has a minimum of nine subjects. Of these nine subjects six are of theory based and remaining three are practical laboratory sessions.

My college does not provide internship. As far as I know internships are not provided by the college . Although they do allow us to go outside and do internships. The overall experience outside is good but it clashes with the college timings.

Every year more than 100 companies come to my college for placements. Out of the colleges in Hyderabad,my college ranks pretty good in placements. Companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra regularly place many students. Also companies like Microsoft also come for placements.

Like every other college we too have cultural and technical festivals. Our cultural festival is pulse which is held during the month of February. Our technical festival is named Pragnya and is held during the month of November. We also have a Environmental fest called Rubix. Most of the students participate in these fests and there is a lot of fun.

The fee structure for the current year is around 95000 for the whole year. The fees was hiked from 75000 to 95000 from previous to current year. Although the fee structure is comparatively lesser than that of other colleges ,it is still little expensive.

There are scholarships available in the college. The state scholarship is available in the college.I myself available the state scholarship .It has been very helpful in my financial aspect.

I haven't had much experience with the alumni of the college but they seem to take active participation in alumni meetings.The seniors though are very helpful and supportive.

Every semester we have two mid internal exams and a final external exam.Since the time between all the exams is minimum 1 day we can prepare for each exam very peacefully. The lab practical examinations are held after the theory examinations.The schedule for examinations is very convenient for students.

Through the admission process of EAMCET I applied for admission into GRIET. I got accepted into the college.I physically registered myself by going to the college and submitting required documents. The admission process was fairly easy and simple. It got completed in few hours. I paid the starting college fee and got enrolled into the college.

There are many lecturers and associate lecturers in the college. Most of the lecturers are highly qualified. The teaching techniques involve board and marker technique. Some of the associate lecturers are not qualified for the jobs. They sometimes don't understand what they are teaching.
