Remarks

I choose this college as it's near my house and it takes approximately 15-20 minutes to reach there. My college has great faculty and also encourages students to participate in various inter-college programs. Our college has a gigantic library in which every semester the books are updated. The only thing of concern is that our college doesn't have a big ground for organizing events and sports activities. During events(like annual fest) our college's art and culture society arrange a temporary stage while during sports events our college takes students to the sports complex. The admission process was quite easy this time as the whole process was online otherwise it would have been cumbersome. I checked shiksha.com and quora for reviews before taking admission to this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose this course as I had an interest in pursuing my career in the Punjabi language field. There are two sections has of Punjabi and every section has a different teacher. In every class, there are approximately 40 students. Faculty have a minimum of masters in our course and others have p.h.d The teaching method's quite unique as teachers use innovative ways to teach us i.e., instead of just reading the chapter they relate it to personal life and give real-life examples which make the learning more fun. Before getting into this course I had thought that the curriculum would be very boring yet the teachers made learning fun for us. Exams were held timely and it was not very difficult to pass the exams only thing required was a thorough study of chapters and making notes.

Internships Opportunities

4

Placement opportunities are provided by the placement cell of Sgndkc, they actively find internship opportunities for students both on-campus and off-campus. Top companies like Tommy Hilfiger, Decathlon, and Woodland come for on-campus placement drives. Roles offered by companies are: marketing intern, sales intern, hr intern, accounting intern, etc., the average stipend offered ranges from 3-10k p.m.

Placement Experience

4

The placement cell of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College actively helps students to find opportunities for internships and placements. Companies visit the campus for on-campus placement drives. Students become eligible from the 6th semester for placements. Top companies like Wipro, Pwc, Yes Bank, Tommy Hilfiger have visited our campus for placements. The highest package offered was around 9.5-10lacs p.a., the average package that was offered was around 3-5lacs p.a. The profiles that were offered were in sales executive, junior digital marketer, finance and sports leader, etc. Around 70% students get placed while some student doesn't opt for placement if they have plans for further studies. I will go abroad for further studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Th fees are quite affordable and there's no such hike policy but it all usually depends on the university decision. The cost to study is quite affordable, this year we had to pay 16,500. Last year we had to pay 18,100, it's a plunge in fees from last year. Yes, there's a scholarship test which is organized by our college every year and students can apply to it. After the test students who are eligible can apply for a scholarship which would then be signed by the principal( Gurmohinder Singh). Other than this there's no financial assistance for students. Companies visit for campus drives for students who are in the 5th semester and if there is performance is satisfactory then they give them a permanent job offer too. I didn't get the job on campus as I'm currently in the 4th semester.

Campus Life

3.5

The most popular fest of Delhi University is organized by our college "Surlok". Every year Punjabi singers are invited for shows in our college fest. The fest is organized in the month of March. There are different activities during the fest like talent hunt, Dance competition, Mr. and Mrs. Sgndian, Singing competition, Poetry competition, etc. A lot of students come from different colleges to the fest. Books are updated every semester in our college library and the library is fully air-conditioned. Our classrooms have all basic amenities like chalk, duster, blackboard, and projector, etc. Our college doesn't have grounds for conducting sports and extracurricular activities but the societies actively encourage students to participate in sports and extracurricular activities.
