My experience and review on UEM, Kolkata

UEMK provides excellent education as said in the college logo. Not only that the process of teaching and keeping the students busy in some or the other way in studies so that they can enjoy gaining knowledge is just amazing. Nothing to say about placement record it is just extraordinary. So everything is good about this college no lack. If you qualify the university exam IEMJEE then you will easily get admission in this college. The other process you can get into this college is by having good percentile in JEE Main or good marks in WBJEE. This college has a good record with respect to placement not only that this college works in the collaboration with IEM. So they are a group called IEM-UEM group. Besides that, I read about the excellent facility and education environment which this college provides in the newspaper. Uem.edu which contains all the details of this college is the official website and iemcrp is another website but is only applicable to the college members.

Electronics and Communication is basically an interesting subject which deals not with only gadgets but also programming. I am fond of gadgets and making various kinds of gadgets especially the communicating gadgets and want to know more, that is the reason I have selected this course to enhance my knowledge. In my stream, the faculties are in the right number. Actually, they are divided on the basis of the stream as well as the strength each and every stream holds. But as I have seen the ratio is 50:50 so no issue with the ratio of students to teachers. The teachers teach with the help of a projector and they use a microphone so that everyone can listen to the lecture properly. Rarely the green board is used whenever it is required. The teachers have their masters degree and PhD degree is done and has good practical knowledge besides the theoretical one. Term exams are taken two times in each semester so all total four-term exams in one year and the paper consists of 70 marks and is easy to pass.

From 7th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placement exams and interview that is the starting of the 4th year. The highest number of offers got by a student is 7 and but a maximum of them get 1 to 2 job offers. TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, E Litmus, Cognizant are the various companies and along with within the many other companies visits too making almost 1200 job offers in this session. This year recorded the highest package got by a student which is of 72 lakhs per annum but the average package remains around 4 to 5 lakhs per annum. As it has been published in the newspaper as well as on the internet the percentage of students getting a job is almost 99%. In the year 2023, I am going to complete my degree and before that campus placement will start so for the time being I am focusing for placement.

Fees are taken half-yearly that is on basis of the semester which is 65,000 without a scholarship. You can pay in whichever mode you want Telegraphic or NEFT any mode. The scholarship is awarded to those students who have 90% and above marks in their 12th board exam and till now I am in 2nd year so cannot sit for placement thus have not got any job but will become eligible in the 4th year to sit for the placement exam.

The thing I am always curious about is the annual fest as it comes once in every year the Edu Fest and it is organized in a very excited and enjoyable way. Tech fest goes on one after the other in one month gap just like Robotics, Smart Maker's Festival and many other. The library is open for 24/7 for the students so at any time they can use and get the full benefit. Every type of books is present to enhance your knowledge so there is no problem regarding that. Classrooms are provided with CCTV cameras and are very neat and clean with proper ventilation. Projectors, white screen, green board and microphone with speakers are also provided. From indoor to outdoor every kind of sporting activities take place. Annual sports day is held in the month of February and both IEM and UEM students take part in it basically it is IEM versus UEM. I am involved in the drawing club and there are many other clubs like for the sports, dance and on various fields.
