Remarks

It is a constituent of University of Delhi. It is an all girls college. The location of the college is very good. It is well connected through bus/metro/rikshaw. The metro station and bus stand are at walking distance- about 150- 200 meters from college. The fee is also very affordable.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course: So my course is B.A. Hons. Political Science and I love this course. I love the syllabus and I feel like no course would have given me this much satisfaction and happiness. I don't think if there was any chances of being exposed to industry in my course. Although curriculum was good. We had mock parliament, debate competitions, national and international seminars etc all in our college. We visited Indian parliament twice in 3 years, once during lok sabha session and once during rajya sabha session. Faculty is good. They always motivated the students and even during lock down period, they stayed in touch with the students regularly. The material they provided us range from books to university readings and I was satisfied with almost all of it. I don't find it appropriate to name one or few. I would like to thank them all.

Internships Opportunities

I did an unpaid social media internship with nasscom in 2017. I got an certificate.

Placement Experience

4

As my course does not have much possibility, I don't have any idea. But I know that there is an active placement cell and events like motivating sessions and personality development and interview skills etc are regularly organised.

College Events

5

Campus life is really good. There are so many societies that I can't even recall them at one time. Art society, western dance society, classical dance society, debate society, western music society, classical music society, theatre society etc Further students can choose to be part of NSS, NCC or sports. Many sports are available. Aerobics can also be joined. There is a gym on the premises which students can use. Fresher parties, fests, and farewells all are organised. Both at department level and college level. The name of the fest is srijan. It is organised once a year in February or March.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships for obc, sc, st available for all students. Many departments offer scholarships to their respective meritorious students

Campus Life

Campus infrastructure was very good. During festival seasons, we have visited my colleges which are considered to be very good and I would like to mention that no infrastructure was as good as SPM's. There is a large beautiful auditorium. There are 3 conference rooms, a 3 floor large library. AC reading room, Audio-visual rooms,2 large seminar halls, one big play ground, a basketball ground, Kabaddi ground, a very affordable and clean canteen with variety vegetarian menu. And a whole new building with large classrooms with projectors and labs according to requirement of courses- computers labs, psychology lab, education session, Food technology labs etc. Lacks: AC is not available in normal classroom but in library, seminar halls, conference rooms, labs etc No hostel is there. Students have to take apartment on rent nearby or pgs.

Placement Experience:

There is a proctive college placement cell tied to every department and every semester/batch students via a placement coordinator who facilitates communication between the cell and students. Students are eligible for paid internships early in their college tenure, with placements following later. KPMG, upGrad Campus, Collegedunia, Deloitte are some of the large number of visiting companies and they offer guaranteed placements.

The college has really more to do with its placement cell because students are not getting opportunities as they expect. The companies which come for placement drive are from limited domains and they also offer very normal package.

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.
